Abstract:
A case structure of an electronic device is used for directly integrating an antenna of a signal transceiver circuit and a case of the electronic device, so as to improve a space utilization rate of the electronic device. At least one trench pattern is formed on a specific region of the metal case of the electronic device. When the metal case is electrically coupled to the signal transceiver circuit of the electronic device, the metal case and the trench pattern constitute at least one antenna of the electronic device.

Abstract:
A ring binder mechanism that retains loose-leaf pages. The mechanism includes a housing and hinge plates supported by the housing for pivoting about a pivot axis relative to the housing. The mechanism further includes rings that hold the loose-leaf pages. Each ring includes two ring members. A first ring member is mounted on a first hinge plate and can move therewith relative to a second ring member. In a closed position, the two ring members form a substantially continuous, closed loop for allowing loose-leaf pages retained by the rings to be moved along the rings from one ring member to the other. In an open position, the two ring members form a discontinuous, open loop for adding or removing loose-leaf pages from the rings. Additionally the mechanism comprises an actuator that is pivotally mounted on the housing and can move relative to the housing for controlling the pivoting motion of the hinge plates and closing the ring members. A travel bar has a connection to the actuator for blocking the hinge plate's pivoting motion when the ring members are closed. The connection between the travel bar and actuator permits the actuator to move in a range without actuating corresponding movement of the travel bar.
Abstract:
An antenna device with a surface antenna pattern is formed either on an internal surface or on the external surface of a casing of an electronic device by film coating technology. The surface antenna pattern is either directly connected to a signal feeding line or connected to a signal feeding line through a signal guiding passage. In an embodiment, a recess is pre-formed on the external surface of the casing and then a surface antenna pattern is coated to the recess. The antenna device may further comprise an antenna coupling element arranged at the internal surface of the casing, in opposite to the surface antenna pattern. The antenna coupling element is inductively coupled with the surface antenna pattern for transceiving the signals to the electronic device.
Abstract:
A brushless permanent magnet motor with unequal-width slots and its manufacturing method completes a design of a regular motor with equal-width slots, employs a single-layer centralized winding, increasing the width equally on left and right sides of a first type of teeth wound with a coil until a width Wt3 of a tooth tip equals to a width Wp of a magnetic pole, such that the stator slot opening shifts towards a second type of teeth with no coil, increasing a width of a first type of teeth with a coil equally on left and right sides until a coil pitch equals to a width Wp of a magnetic pole or a motor angle equals to 180°, and decreasing a width Wt2 of a second type of teeth with no coil equally on both left and right sides until a slot area Sa2 is greater than the original slot area Sa1 of a regular motor with equal-width slots to improve the motor efficiency and reliability for a variable speed operation.
Abstract:
A system in accordance with an embodiment of the invention provides Quality of Service (QoS) for Storage Access. Such QoS is partially enabled in one embodiment by the automatic pooling of storage devices and provisioning virtual targets from those pools. QoS is enforced in one embodiment by keeping the bandwidth for each connection within a specified range, and particularly, by controlling the number of allowed concurrent requests from an initiator. Load balancing is also provided in one embodiment, improving response times for requests, further easing the ability to provide QoS.
Abstract:
A dual-band antenna is provided, which includes a signal resonance unit, a grounding unit, a connection unit, and a signal line. The grounding unit is disposed opposite to the signal resonance unit. The connection unit has a first connection element and a second connection element, wherein one end of the first connection element is connected to the signal resonance unit and the other end of the first connection element is connected to the grounding unit, while one end of the second connection element is connected to one side of the first connection element. The signal line has a signal feeding end and a circuit connection end, wherein the signal feeding end is electrically connected to the second connection element, and the circuit connection end is electrically connected to a wireless circuit device.
Abstract:
A storage switch in accordance with an embodiment of the invention is a highly scalable switch that allows the creation of a SAN that is easy to deploy and that can be centrally managed. Moreover, such a storage switch also allows the deployment of a global infrastructure, allowing the resources of the SAN, such as storage devices, to essentially be positioned anywhere on the globe. Further, such a storage switch allows a multi-protocol SAN, e.g., one that includes both iSCSI or Fibre Channel, and processes data packets at “wire speed.” To further enable wire-speed processing, a switch in accordance with the invention has “intelligence” distributed to each of its linecards, through which it classifies packets into data and control packets, it performs virtualization functions, and it performs protocol translation functions. A switch in accordance with the invention further performs serverless storage services such as mirroring, snapshot, and replication.
Abstract:
A holographic storage system. A low over-sampling technology and an adaptable gain-controlling unit are used in the holographic storage system for unequally amplifying signals generated by a detecting apparatus. Then the amplified signals generated by the detecting apparatus are summed in order to generate summing signals, which are used to detect original image frames for raising the resolution of the images and reducing the error rate of the data.
Abstract:
A sphygmomanometer cuff assembly, air pump, pressure sensor and release valve are contained in an otherwise conventional computer mouse controller. Various alternative embodiments are illustrated and discussed herein. In one such embodiment the sphygmomanometer cuff is nominally positioned within the mouse structure and is extended outside the mouse housing during the measurement. In another embodiment, the cuff is always external of the mouse structure and is easily connected to the mouse at special ports during the measurement. In yet another embodiment, the cuff is always internal of the mouse structure and is readily accessible through an aperture in the housing surface of the mouse to permit the measurement to take place. Preferably, in each of these alternative embodiments a hinged or slidable door or panel protects the cuff or cuff ports between measurements. In some of the embodiments shown herein, the sphygmomanometer cuff is configured for receiving a human finger in circumambient pressured engagement using controlled air pressure to vary the cuff/finger engagement pressure in a precise manner. In one embodiment hereof, the sphygmomanometer cuff is configured as a wrist cuff.
