Abstract: A radio access network intelligent controller (RIC) platform can enable various highly secure, reliable, fast communications for first responders during emergency situations. The RIC can utilize radio access network (RAN) resources, for example, beam management procedures to facilitate the use of virtual zones. The virtual zones can be generated dynamically by leveraging collaborating mobile devices from various zones. The virtual zones can be distributed entities that span across real-physical zones but are managed as a single logical entity under a common set of policies. The creation and management of virtual zones can be performed by a group of corresponding RICs as a distributed system.

Abstract: In 5G, a high degree of automated management and control mechanisms can coordinate various radios in relatively close proximity, via a zone, or in a cluster. Reactive automation coupled with hybrid algorithms utilizing internal radio states and known or expected external events or entities can enable a smart proactive 5G automation. The smart proactive 5G automation can minimize signaling between the radios and provide a hybrid distributed and centralized model utilizing a radio access network intelligent controller to increase spectrum efficiencies. Additionally, the smart proactive 5G automation can provide new service opportunities that can be offered by service providers.

Abstract: A system can obtain a labelled data set, including historic video data and labelled events. The system can divide the labelled data set into a historic training/testing data sets. The system can determine, using the historic training data set, a plurality of different parameter configurations to be used by a video encoder to encode a video that includes a plurality of video frames. Each parameter configuration can include a group of pictures (“GOP”) size and a scenecut threshold. The system can calculate an accuracy of event detection (“ACC”) and a filtering rate (“FR”) for each parameter configuration. The system can calculate, for each parameter configuration of the plurality of different parameter configurations, a harmonic mean between the ACC and the FR. The system can then select a best parameter configuration of the plurality of different parameter configurations based upon the parameter configuration that has the highest harmonic mean.

Further embodiments can include determining a first portion of the plurality of requests are for pre-fetch frames of the video content, and providing, over the communication network, the pre-fetch frames to the mobile device over a default bearer path. Additional embodiments can include determining a second portion of the plurality of requests are for emergent frames of the video content, and providing, over the communication network, the emergent frames to the mobile device over a dedicated bearer path. Abstract: A processing system including at least one processor may receive a request from a client device for a deployment of a client service to a mobile edge infrastructure of a telecommunication network, the mobile edge infrastructure including host devices, and determine at least one requirement for the client service, including at least one of: a distance requirement, comprising a maximum distance between the client device and a candidate host device for deploying the service, or a latency requirement, comprising a maximum latency between the client device and the candidate host device for deploying the service. The processing system may further determine at least one available host device of the mobile edge infrastructure that meets the requirements, select a host device from among the at least one available host device to run the client service, and instruct the client device to connect to the host device that is selected.

Abstract: Given real-time user equipment (UE) measurements from an open radio access network (O-RAN) infrastructure, a radio access network intelligent controller (RIC) can compute a UE distribution context space. The O-RAN can comprise gNode-Bs, centralized units, and distributed units. The UE distribution context space computations can be performed by a UE context correlator module of the RIC. The UE context correlator module can also utilize a pre-defined UE context model, which contains definitions and values for various UE context attributes to generate adaptive beam-forming patterns.

Abstract: Deployment of Internet-of-things devices can comprise sensors deployed in remote and hard to reach areas and locations. Due to lack of access to reliable power, these sensors cannot always be connected to a network and also have limited computation power. Consequently, a mechanism can be established to periodically access these sensors and collect data from them. The mechanism can utilize a mobile radio unit device to serve as data collectors. The mobile radio unit device can make use of an adaptive beam scanning to perform sensory data collection via the beam scanning operation. Additionally, the platform can also comprise a radio access network intelligent controller to manage the data collecting radio units by providing specific instructions and data collection methodologies.

Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, system for tile-based video streaming using a proxy executing at a mobile edge cloud, which adaptively offloads decoding and merging of video tiles from mobile devices to the mobile edge cloud. A processing system including the proxy communicates with a video server and a client device. The proxy receives a request for video content from a client device; the request includes historical field of view (FoV) information. The proxy predicts a client FoV, requests video tiles from the server, downloads the tiles from the server, generates a video chunk by decoding and merging the downloaded tiles, and delivers the video chunk to the client device. The client device performs local decoding and rendering of the generated video chunk. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems, methods, and computer-readable storage devices for reducing inter-cellsite interference during full-duplex communication. A system receives a channel amplitude and a phase estimate between a first station and a second station, the first station and the second station creating inter-cellsite interference on a channel during full-duplex communications. The system calculates a level of the inter-cellsite interference between the first station and the second station based on the channel amplitude and the phase estimate and generates a cancellation signal based on the inter-cellsite interference. The system then communicates the cancellation signal to the first station for transmission with additional data during additional full-duplex communications.

According to one aspect disclosed herein, a recommender system can receive user input regarding a service project interest expressed by a user. In response to the user input, the recommender system can consult a knowledge base to determine a recommended service based upon the user input regarding the service project interest expressed by the user. The recommender system can then present the recommended service to the user.
