Abstract: Embodiments herein describe segmenting a Wi-Fi network into different groups. The embodiments herein assign a user, a client device, or a traffic flow originating from a client device to a group. For example, all the client devices for a particular user can be assigned to the same group tag, or each traffic flow in the client device may be assigned to different groups. Each group corresponds to a group key which can be transmitted to the client device when the device associates to an access point (AP). As such, within the same service set identifier (SSID), there can be multiple groups, and thus, client devices can use different group keys to communicate with other client devices associated to the same SSID. Put differently, rather than all devices connected the same SSID being assigned to the same group, the client devices can be assigned in different groups.

Abstract: A method for marking network traffic in a link-aggregated network based on an application associated with the traffic. The method comprises receiving, via a cellular wireless network, one or more data packets destined for an electronic device and associated with an application. The method further comprises identifying an application type of the application. The method further comprises determining a priority of the one or more data packets based on the application type. The method further comprises transmitting, to a Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN), the one or more data packets including an indication of the priority for forwarding the traffic.

Abstract: In Wi-Fi 8, backscatter devices (BKDs) may be viewed as part of the 802.11 wireless local area network (WLAN). BKDs in a WLAN have limited transmission interactions with a Wi-Fi access point (AP). Onboarding BKDs to the WLAN is described, which allows for the AP and BKD to participate as elements of the same local network, with security controls. The onboarding of the BKD to a WLAN may occur after discovery of the BKD at an AP and includes replacing an Initial Device Identifier (IDevID) on the BKD with a Local Device Identifier (LDevID) in order to provide for secure communications between the BKD and the WLAN.

Abstract: Quality of Service (QOS) translation may be provided. An identifier of a client device and an indication that the client device supports translation between a Quality of Service (QOS) treatment in a first wireless protocol and a QoS treatment in a second wireless protocol may be received from the first client device. Then a QoS level associated with the client device in the first wireless protocol may be determined. Next, the QoS level associated with the client device in the first wireless protocol may be mapped to a QoS level associated with the client device in the second wireless protocol. The QoS level associated with the client device in the second wireless protocol may then be applied to wireless traffic between the computing device and the client device.

Abstract: Access Point ranging and placement on a floorplan may be provided. A host AP may range each neighbor AP of the host AP. One or more neighbor APs that failed ranging with the host AP may be categorized in a failed neighbor AP list. The host AP may re-range each of the one or more neighbor APs in the failed neighbor AP list with a modified ranging parameter. At least one neighbor AP of the one or more neighbor APs may be categorized in the failed neighbor AP list that succeeded in re-ranging with the host AP in an extended range neighbor AP list.

Abstract: Fine Time Measurement (FTM) improvement for AP self-positioning may be provided. First, an Access Point (AP) graph may be generated. An AP pair may be determined for FTM AP self-positioning based on the AP graph, A plurality of Transmit (TX) signals may be sent to a paired AP of the AP pair using two more TX antennas, wherein the plurality of TX signals include FTM action frames and have a first constant Cyclic Shift Delay (CSD). A plurality of Receive (RX) signals may be received from the paired AP using two or more RX antennas, wherein the plurality of RX signals include FTM action frames and have a second constant CSD, Outlier RX signals having a low Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) may be removed from the plurality of RX signals. An AP position may be determined based on the plurality of RX signals.

Abstract: Techniques for wireless network management are provided. A first set of characteristics data for a plurality of wireless networks in a common physical space is collected. A use timeline for at least a first wireless network of the plurality of wireless networks is generated based at least in part on the first set of characteristics data, where the first use timeline indicates, for a plurality of time windows, typical expected network characteristics of the first wireless network. A set of radio frequency (RF) parameter modifications is generated based on the first use timeline, and one or more of the plurality of wireless networks are instructed to implement the set of RF parameter modifications.

Abstract: Techniques for wireless communication are disclosed. These techniques include defining a message schedule for fine time measurement (FTM) at a first wireless access point (AP). The techniques further include broadcasting the message schedule to a plurality of wireless stations (STAs) from the first AP. The techniques further include receiving, at the first AP, a plurality of FTM messages from the plurality of STAs, the messages transmitted by the plurality of STAs based on the message schedule. The techniques further include determining a distance between the first AP and each of the plurality of STAs based on the plurality of FTM messages.

Abstract: Techniques and apparatus for managing a message relaying system are described. One technique includes an access point (AP) detecting a first signal and a second signal from a computing device. A validation of the first signal is performed based on parameters of the first signal and the second signal. After the validation, information associated with the first signal is transmitted to a computing system. In another technique, the computing system may designate one of multiple APs reporting information regarding first signals as a primary reporting AP and designate the remaining APs as secondary reporting APs. The computing system may instruct the secondary reporting APs to refrain from reporting information regarding first signals to the computing system.
