Abstract: Various arrangements for performing grant-free uplink transmissions are presented herein. A user equipment (UE) can determine data that is to be transmitted using a grant-free uplink transmission to a base station of a cellular network. Three or more grant-free transmission blocks may be selected by the UE. The same data payload may be transmitted on each grant-free transmission block. The first grant-free transmission block can indicate the end of a chain of linked grant-free transmissions and have a pointer that references the second grant-free transmission block. The second grant-free transmission can include pointers that refer to the first grant-free transmission block and a third grant-free transmission block.

Abstract: An example system and method may manage interference to facilitate the coexistence of terrestrial and non-terrestrial wireless networks. An example system may determine frequency bands assigned to adjacent satellites or satellite services and determine an interference characteristic of the frequency bands used by the adjacent satellites. The system may select a frequency band for use by a reference satellite in a reference geographic region based on the frequency bands assigned to the adjacent satellites. In some instances, the system may instruct the reference satellite to use the selected frequency band for communication with a wireless client device in the reference geographic region.

Abstract: Embodiments are directed towards systems and methods for selecting, in a Fifth Generation (5G) cellular telecommunication network, a User Plane Function (UPF) of a plurality of UPFs on which to anchor a Protocol Data Unit (PDU) session of a new user equipment (UE) newly appearing on the cellular telecommunication network. The selection is based on: a location of the new UE; a plurality of current loads for each UPF of the plurality of UPFs; a predicted UE load of the new UE based on network data analytics; and predicted UPF loads of the plurality of UPFs as a function of time considering the predicted UE load based on network data analytics from the Network Data Analytics Function. In the UPF selection, the Session Management Function (SMF) gives higher priority to shorter term predicted loads than longer term predicted loads.

Abstract: Cross Link Interference (CLI) within a wireless network is mitigated by characterizing a communication path that introduces the CLI on an uplink resource. Mitigation is achieved by receiving, from a neighboring device, information related to a downlink resource scheduling decision. The neighboring device then delays its downlink resource transmission. Transmissions received on an uplink resource may then be corrected.
