    摘要: Disclosed are a pigment including a light-transparent ceramic scaly substrate, a tin compound layer coated on a surface of the substrate in an amount of 0.6 to 0.75% by weight with respect to the substrate, the amount being converted into metallic tin, a rutile type titanium dioxide layer formed on a surface of the substrate coated with the tin compound, a metal compound layer coated on a surface of the titanium dioxide layer in an amount of 0.15 to 0.6% by weight with respect to the substrate, metal of the metal compound being at least one selected from the group consisting of Bi, Sb, As, Cd, Zn, Mn, Pb and Cr, and the amount being converted into metal, and metallic glossy dots formed on the surfaces in a scattering manner, the metallic glossy dots occupying 0.05 to 95% of a total surface area of the surfaces, and a process for producing the same. Since the metallic glossy dots are formed preferentially between the titanium dioxide layer and the substrate on which the tin compound layer facilitating the metallic glossy dots formation selectively is coated. Therefore, the particle diameters of the metallic glossy dots are made uniform, and accordingly the light scattering and the light reflection are also made uniform. As a result, the pigment produces a color tone which varies less. With the production process, it is possible to stably produce a pigment producing a less varying color tone.

    摘要: An optical marking system is disclosed, in which a light beam of a preset wavelength is generated by a light source. An optical system receives the light beam generated by the light source and directs the received light beam in a present direction. A pattern generator includes a pattern forming section and a non-pattern forming section. Further, a control section controls the optical system to effect a first mode, in which the light beam is directed to the pattern forming section of the pattern generator, to form a predetermined pattern and a second mode, in which the light beam is directed to the non-pattern forming section of the pattern generator. The first and second modes are effected in a preset sequence.

    摘要: An electrophotographic image forming member for forming color images including an organic photosensitive layer sandwiched between a dielectric layer and a conductive layer. The photoconductive layer includes a first charge generation layer adjacent to the conductive layer, a charge transfer layer on the first charge generation layer and a second charge generation layer on the charge transfer layer. During exposure, resistance of the photosensitive layer is reduced so that charges can flow through the photosensitive layer to create oppositely charged portions of the image forming member corresponding to a desired image of each color. Appropriately charged color toner adheres to the surface of the image forming member in the form of the desired image. After each color toner image is formed, the completed color image is transferred to a transfer medium.

    摘要: The present invention relates to an electrophotographic sensitive member, in particular to a divided function type electrophotographic sensitive member formed of amorphous silicon and amorphous silicon carbide capable of particularly widening an optical band gap range to heighten an optical sensitivity.Stabilized operation characteristics and durability are required for an electrophotographic sensitive member drum carried on instruments such as a high-speed copying machine and a laser beam printer. As for these requirements, hydrogenized amorphous silicon is being watched with interest from the viewpoints of superior abrasion resistance, heat resistance, anti-pollution property, optical sensitive characteristic and the like.However, even multi-layer type sensitive member and a divided function type sensitive member, which have been known as an electrophotographic sensitive member formed of hydrogenized amorphous silicon, have shown problems in that in the case where they are used in the high-speed copying, a residual image, in which the preceding image remains without being completely removed by an optical memory effect and appears again with the formation of the subsequent image, occurs, and an image exposure per one time of copying is reduced by the high-speediness, whereby the sufficient optical attenuation can not be obtained and the potentiality of the sensitive member corresponding to a shading contrast of a manuscript can not be sufficiently increased, so that a background smearing is produced.The present invention aims at the obtainment of an electrophotographic sensitive member capable of solving such problems and provides an electrophotographic sensitive member capable of heightening an optical sensitivity over a wide wavelength range to obtain sufficient optical attenuation characteristics, whereby being suitable for the high-speed copying.
