摘要: Luminance levels of an analog or digital image signal entered from outside are detected as a luminance histogram. Based on the luminance histogram, a black luminance level and a white luminance level are determined, and are assigned respectively to a darkest tonal level and a lightest tonal level of a gradation range available for printing. To those pixels having luminance levels between the black and white levels, tonal levels between the darkest and lightest tonal levels are assigned according to a gradation conversion curve. The gradation conversion curve is selected among from a plurality of predetermined conversion curves depending upon a scene discrimination coefficient. The scene discrimination coefficient is calculated by multiplying the frequency of each luminance level shown in the luminance histogram with a different luminance coefficient predetermined according to the luminance level, and accumulating multiplication results of all the luminance levels.

摘要: An intercellular separation structure body capable of electrically connecting a plurality of unit cells that include a laminate type solid secondary battery with each other, and capable of ion-conductively insulating a positive electrode layer and a negative electrode layer in two adjacent unit cells, as well as a laminate type solid secondary battery provided with the same. The intercellular separation structure body is an intercellular separation structure body disposed between a plurality of unit cells each of which includes a positive electrode layer, a solid electrolyte layer, and a negative electrode layer that are sequentially stacked in a laminate type solid secondary battery. This intercellular separation structure body includes an insulating layer that electroconductively and ion-conductively insulates the plurality of unit cells from each other and an electroconductive section that is formed within the insulating layer and electrically connects the plurality of unit cells with each other.

摘要: A head for magnetic thermally assisted magnetic data recording, having a read element, a write element a heater element for controlling thermal protrusion of the read and write elements and a thermal sensor for detecting contact a portion of the head with a magnetic media. The thermal contact sensor is arranged so that the thermal conduction between the thermal contact sensor and the read element is substantially equal to the thermal conductivity between the thermal contact sensor and the write element. In this way the accuracy of the detection of thermal contact is maintained whether the read element makes contact with the disk or the write element makes contact with disk.

摘要: A first overcurrent detecting circuit outputs a first time-up signal when a time period, in which an electric current flowing into the wire harness is greater than the first threshold, reaches a first duration time, which corresponds to a first threshold. A second overcurrent detecting circuit outputs a second time-up signal when a time period, in which an electric current flowing into the wire harness is greater than the second threshold, reaches a second duration time, which corresponds to a second threshold. The second threshold is less than the first threshold. The second duration time is longer than the first duration time. A determination circuit determines that an overcurrent flows into the wire harness and cause a control circuit to deactivate the switching element when inputting at least one of the first and second time-up signals.

摘要: In write power adjustment for an optical disc having a plurality of information storage layers, data of trial writing is varied by the influence of layers other than a target layer. It is difficult, therefore, to determine optimal write power. A modulation M[m] is obtained from a reproduction signal amplitude of a signal subjected to the trial writing performed with use of write powers Pw[m] (m being an integer) of a plurality of kinds. At least an optimum write power intercept Pint_opt is determined by fitting a relation between the Pw[m] and the M[m] by a modulation characteristic formula M=Masy×(1−(Pint−Pasy)/(Pw−Pasy)) having an asymptotic modulation Masy, a write power intercept Pint, and an asymptotic write power Pasy as parameters. Approximation accuracy by the fitting and/or quality of the trial writing signal are evaluated with use of at least the M[m], the modulation characteristic formula, and the Pint_opt. An optimum write power Pw_opt is calculated by performing a specified operation at least with use of the Pint_opt.
