    Abstract: The present invention provides a half thrust bearing in a semicircular ring shape for receiving an axial force of the crankshaft of the internal combustion engine, including thrust reliefs formed adjacent to both circumferential end portions of a slide surface which receives the axial force, so that a wall thickness of the half thrust bearing becomes thinner toward the circumferential end portions, wherein at least the thrust relief on a rear side in a rotational direction of the crankshaft has a thrust relief length which becomes larger toward an outer end portion from an inner end portion in a radial direction of the half thrust bearing. The present invention also provides a bearing device including the above half thrust bearing, a crankshaft, a pair of half bearings supporting a journal portion of the crankshaft, and a bearing housing having a holding hole for holding the pair of half bearings.

    Abstract: The invention provides a thrust bearing, including a pair of half thrust bearings. Each half thrust bearing includes a bearing alloy layer and a resin slide layer, or a back metal layer, a bearing alloy layer and a resin slide layer. The resin slide layer constitutes a slide surface receiving an axial force of a crankshaft. Each half thrust bearing include thrust reliefs formed adjacent to both circumferential end portions of the sliding surface so that a wall thickness is thinner toward the circumferential end surface. A thrust relief length at an inner end portion of the thrust relief positioned on a rear side of one of the half thrust bearings in a rotational direction is larger than a thrust relief length at an inner end portion of the thrust relief positioned on a front side of the other of the half thrust bearing in the rotational direction.

    Abstract: A thrust bearing including a back metal layer and a sliding layer joined to a front face of the back metal layer. The thrust bearing having a thickness. The back metal layer includes an intermediate sub-layer and a buffer sub-layer disposed on a back face of the back metal layer. The sliding layer is joined to the intermediate sub-layer. Both of the sub-layers include iron or an iron alloy, and the buffer sub-layer has a thickness of 2 to 20% relative to the thickness of the thrust bearing, and a porosity ratio of 10 to 50%.

    Abstract: A slide member provided with an overlay composed of a Bi-based material. A slide member includes a substrate; and an overlay including Bi or a Bi alloy provided over the substrate. A surface portion (surface-most portion) of the overlay includes an oxide layer in which a bismuth oxide, is scattered. The content of the bismuth oxide in the oxide layer represented by oxygen content is equal to or greater than 0.5% mass % and equal to or less than 8.0 mass %. The orientation intensity ratio of the main orientation plane of Bi or Bi alloy crystals in the overlay is 50% or greater. The main orientation plane of the bismuth oxide crystals in the oxide layer is the (220) plane or the (201) plane.

    Abstract: A half thrust bearing having a semicircular ring shape for receiving an axial force of a crankshaft of an internal combustion engine is provided. The half thrust bearing includes thrust reliefs formed adjacently to end surfaces on both sides in a circumferential direction on a slide surface side which receives the axial force so that wall thicknesses become thinner toward the end surfaces. The thrust relief on a rear side in a rotational direction of the crankshaft or both thrust reliefs are formed so that a length of the thrust relief in an inner end portion in a radial direction of the half thrust bearing is longer than a length of the thrust relief in an outer end portion in the radial direction of the half thrust bearing.

    Abstract: A bearing device includes: a journal part, a main bearing, a cylinder block, and a bearing cap. One half bearing held by the cylinder block includes: a first circumferential oil groove and a second circumferential oil groove being formed at positions opposite to an inlet of an oil passage of the journal part; a separation part separating the first circumferential oil groove and the second circumferential oil groove; and an oil hole penetrating from the first circumferential oil groove to an outer circumferential surface. A length L1 in a circumferential direction of the separation part at a position in the inner circumferential surface of the one half bearing is smaller than a length L2 in the circumferential direction of the inlet of the journal part.

    Abstract: A main bearing for a crankshaft of an internal combustion engine has first and second half bearings forming an axial groove on an inner circumferential side of a butting portion. Each half bearing has a main cylinder portion including a central portion in a circumferential direction, and crush relief portions each extending toward the central portion from an end surface of the half bearing in the circumferential direction with a center angle of 3° to 15°. A plurality of crush relief grooves are formed in each crush relief portion to extend in the circumferential direction and communicate with the axial groove. The first half bearing has an oil groove extending in the circumferential direction and a transition region having an inward protruding curved surface with a wall thickness becoming thinner toward the crush relief portion from the main cylinder portion.
