Abstract:
A low residue antimicrobial solution containing about 0.2 percent by weight of an acid selected from the group consisting of organocarboxylic acids; and about 2 percent of a volatile solvent selected from the group consisting of n-butanol, benzyl alcohol, phenylethanol, and sparingly soluble glycol ether solvents is disclosed. Preferred compositions may also contain about 0.1 percent anionic sulfated or sulfonated surfactants and about 5 percent co-solvent selected from the group consisting of completely water soluble monoprotic aliphatic alcohols and glycol ethers. The solution may be also employed as a low-residue cleaner for soiled hard surfaces.
Abstract:
Principal solvents, especially mono-ol and diol principal solvents, having a ClogP of from about 0.15 to about 0.64, preferably from about 0.25 to about 0.62, and more preferably from about 0.40 to about 0.60, are disclosed that have the ability to make clear aqueous fabric softener compositions containing relatively high concentrations of fabric softener actives having highly unsaturated hydrocarbon moieties or branched chains in two long-chain hydrophobic groups with specific cis/trans ratios and having long chain hydrocarbon groups with an IV of from about 70 to about 140 for the unsaturated groups corresponding to fatty acids with the same number of carbons and the same configuration, and the said principal solvents are used at levels of less than about 40%. The fabric softener actives are preferably prepared in the presence of chelating agent and/or antioxidant, as disclosed herein. Such materials are new. Other solvents can be present. Premixes of the fabric softening actives, the principal solvents, and, optionally, other solvents are useful in the preparation of complete formulations by obviating/limiting the need for heating.
Abstract:
Acid neutralizing composition, sheet and method of using the same allow control of the pH of surfaces that form and contact an object such as, a work of art, a historical artifact and a craft item. Controlling the pH of the surface can help preserve and protect the object from degrading over periods of storage or display. Acid neutralizing composition can be used on hands or any surface which contacts the object to neutralize acidic moieties on the surface of the object without leaving a residue on the hand or object.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a cleaning composition containing a zwitterionic surfactant, a glycol ether cosurfactant, a hydrophilizing polymer and water.
Abstract:
A detergent package for immersion and dissolution in water (e.g. for laundry wash use) comprises a substantially anhydrous isotropic liquid detergent formulation encapsulating in water soluble film based on polyvinyl alcohol. The detergent formulation comprises an anionic surface active agent and a soap both dissolved in a liquid carrier. The formulation provides good water solubility, good detergency, high water softening power and compatability with the water soluble film.
Abstract:
An antiseptic cleansing composition comprising an antimicrobial agent, an effective amount of an alkylpolysaccharide surfactant, at least one alkyl alcohol and at least on aryl alcohol. Suitable surfactant alkylpolysaccharides may contain one or more sugar units selected from the group consisting of maltose, arabinose, xylose, mannose, galactose, gulose, idose, talose, allose, altrose, sucrose, fructose, sorbose, levulose, lactose, allulose, tagatose, alloheptulose, sedoheptulose, glucoheptulose, mannoheptulose, guloheptulose, idoheptulose, galactoheptulose, taloheptulose and derivatives thereof. Suitable antimicrobial agents include chlorohexidine, chlorohexidine salt, chlorophenol derivative, octenidindihydrochloride (CH3—(CH2)7—NHOH—(CH2)10—NO—NH(CH2)7—CH3) or any salt thereof, and quaternary ammonium compounds.
Abstract:
A germicide and disinfectant composition contains detergent and at least two enzymes adapted to cause lysis in glycoprotein in infectious agents. These germicidal and disinfectant compositions are used in conjunction with prepackaged wipes and kits that allows the user to remove liquid or dried contaminated material without coming into direct contact with the contaminated material.
Abstract:
The present development relates to a liquid cleansing product that effectively reduces the level of microbes on the skin in a relatively short wash time and which dries quickly without causing damage and drying to the skin. The sanitizing cleanser composition comprising an effective amount of organic alcohol to produce a reduction in microorganisms on the surface of the skin, and an additive to maintain the skin pH in the range of from about 4.0 to about 6.0. The cleanser composition may further include silicone to aid further the drying process, and emollients or oils for skin moisturizing.
Abstract:
The invention provides a method and product for mitigating or eliminating malodor(s) with an aqueous liquid deodorizing composition, in which said composition contains about 0.1-3% water soluble/dispersible polymer, about 0.01-5% fragrance, about 1-20% water soluble/dispersible volatile solvent, and, the remainder, water.
