    摘要: An electrotactile apparatus has an electrode-array unit and a driver unit for generating a haptic feedback to a user. The electrode-array unit uses electrodes to electro-stimulate the user's skin with pulsed voltage signals generated by the driver unit, inducing excitation currents flowing in the user to generate the haptic feedback. The driver unit is self-powered or wirelessly powered for supporting untethered electrotactile stimulation to the user. A common counter electrode installed on the driver unit contacts the user's skin and collects the excitation currents returned from the user. Advantageously, the common counter electrode is located on an outer surface of the driver unit and the driver unit is substantially flexible, facilitating the common counter electrode to seamlessly contact the user's skin for achieving a stable electrode-skin interface while positioning the driver unit as a whole on the user's skin to provide untethered virtual touching experience to the user.

    摘要: Various embodiments disclosed herein relate to a system and method whereby a haptic feedback mechanism may be integrated into a rotatable gear module such that rotating the module may generate pure mechanical haptic feedback. The gear module may be integrated into a wearable device, such as headphones, such that a set of magnets incorporated within may be aligned and misaligned with a plurality of teeth when the gear module rotates. In response to the rotation, each alignment and misalignment of the set of magnets with the plurality of teeth may generate pure haptic feedback. In embodiments, the gear module may be rotated to increment or decrement a unit of measurement associated with the headphones. Each unit of increment or decrement of change may produce haptic feedback based on the alignment and misalignment of the set of magnets.

    摘要: Data manipulation using remote augmented sensing is disclosed. Wireless connectivity is provided between a processor and a wireless transceiver. The wireless transceiver is embedded in an oral sensing interface. A tongue position sensor (TPS) is coupled to the wireless transceiver. The tongue position sensor is attached to the interface. An inertial measurement unit (IMU) is coupled to the wireless transceiver. The IMU is attached to a location along the interface. An interface-embedded preprocessor is further coupled between the wireless transceiver and the output from the TPS and the IMU. Data manipulation is enabled in the processor, based on the wireless connectivity and outputs from the TPS and the IMU. Other sensors are coupled, including a barometric sensor, an ambient condition sensor, a microphone, and a sound generating device. At least one additional inertial measurement unit is coupled to the wireless transceiver.

    摘要: Systems and methods of the present disclosure enable context-aware haptic error notifications. The systems and methods include a processor to receive input segments into a software application from a character input component and determine a destination. A context identification model predicts a context classification of the input segments based at least in part on the software application and the destination. Potential errors are determined in the input segments based on the context classification. An error characterization machine learning model determines an error type classification and an error severity score associated with each potential error and a haptic feedback pattern is determined for each potential error based on the error type classification and the error severity score of each potential error of the one or more potential errors. And a haptic event latency is determined based on the error type classification and the error severity score of each potential error.
