摘要: The current invention relates to a power conversion device (10), for supplying a load (11) with a PWM signal through an inductive output filter (105). The power conversion device (10) comprises a power conversion module (101) supplied by a DC input voltage (Vin) and is configured for providing a plurality of output signals (PWM1, . . . , PWMn) having a level amplitude that is a fraction of the input voltage (Vin) level. Each output signal is floating with a bias component equally split in a plurality of steps ranging from a determined lowest fraction level amplitude to a determined highest fraction level amplitude. The power conversion device (10) further comprises a multiplexer (103) receiving as a plurality of inputs the plurality of output signals (PWM1, . . . , PWMn). The multiplexer is configured for outputting one output signal (PWMx) selected from the plurality of inputs, whereby the output signal (PWMx) of the multiplexer (103) is connected to the output filter (105).

摘要: A system for reducing power loss in a switched-capacitor converter includes a first and second switched capacitor sub-converter each having a flying capacitor and a first, second, third, and fourth switching device. Each switching device is controlled by one of a first, second, third, and fourth clock signal. The first, second, third and fourth clock signals of the second switched capacitor sub-converter are inverted such that the first switched capacitor sub-converter operates during a first phase and the second switched capacitor converter operates during a second phase that is 1800 degrees out of phase from the first phase. The system also includes a resonant charge sharing portion for coupling a bottom-plate parasitic capacitance of the first switched capacitor sub-converter to a bottom-plate parasitic capacitance of the second switched capacitor converter.

摘要: Switch mode power supplies and integrated circuits are presented to provide a DC output voltage signal using high and low side switches, with a switching control circuit to turn off the high side switch and engage an active shunt circuit to provide a reduced voltage to continue converter operation to accommodate high input voltage transients when the DC input voltage exceeds a threshold voltage without requiring an oversized low side switch for improved efficiency through reduced switching and conduction losses in normal operation.

摘要: An electrical circuit for providing electrical power for use in powering electronic devices, such as monitors, televisions, white goods, data centers, and telecom circuit boards, is described herein. The electrical circuit includes an input terminal configured to receive an input power signal, an output terminal configured to provide an output power signal, and a forward converter coupled to the input and output terminals. The forward converter includes a transformer, and a primary side regulation circuit coupled to a primary side of the transformer. The primary side regulation circuit includes a switching device coupled to the primary side, a current sense circuit configured to sense a current level on the primary side, and a controller configured to generate a pulse-width modulated control signal delivered to the switching device as a function of the sensed current level to regulate the transformer to deliver the output power signal at a desired voltage level.

摘要: An electrical circuit for providing electrical power for use in powering electronic devices, such as monitors, televisions, white goods, data centers, and telecom circuit boards, is described herein. The electrical circuit includes an input terminal configured to receive an input power signal, an output terminal configured to provide an output power signal, and a plurality of voltage reduction circuit cells coupled between the input terminal and the output terminal. Each of the voltage reduction circuit cells includes a pair of flyback capacitors, a switching circuit, and a hold capacitor. The switching device is configured to operate the corresponding voltage reduction circuit cell at a charging phase and at a discharging phase. The plurality of voltage reduction circuit cells are configured to deliver the output power signal having a voltage level that is less than the voltage level of the input power signal.

The control signals include first signals generated during a first period that cause first and third switches to be in an ON state and second and fourth switches to be in an OFF state, second signals generated during a second period that cause first and third switches to be in an OFF state and second and fourth switches to be in an ON state, and third signals generated between the first and second periods, that cause the ON/OFF state of each of the switches to be switched at different times.

The rectifier circuit includes a full wave bridge rectifier coupled to the electrical power source, a Zener based charging circuit coupled to the full wave bridge rectifier, a voltage divider coupled to the Zener based charging circuit and the full wave bridge rectifier, and an output terminal coupled to the full wave bridge rectifier, the Zener based charging circuit, and the voltage divider for delivering the input power signal to the voltage reduction circuit.
