Abstract:
A vehicle and a method for controlling the same are provided. In particular, linking information of a broadcast signal having been output during a turn-off mode is transmitted to a DAB receiver upon receiving a turn-on signal. The vehicle includes a Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) receiver that is configured to receive a first DAB signal that corresponds to a selected first broadcast signal. In addition, a speaker outputs the first broadcast signal based on the received first DAB signal or a first frequency-modulation (FM) signal corresponding to the first broadcast signal. In response to receiving a turn-on signal, a controller transmits linking information of the first broadcast signal from among linking information of a plurality of broadcast signals to the DAB receiver to output the first broadcast signal output during a turn-off mode.
Abstract:
A method of performing alternate frequency switching in a radio includes tuning the radio to a primary frequency. A candidate alternate frequency is identified. It is determined whether the candidate alternate frequency is a third order inter-modulation artifact. Tuning is switched from the primary frequency to the candidate alternate frequency only if it is determined in the determining step that the candidate alternate frequency is not a third order inter-modulation artifact.
Abstract:
A method of operating a single-tuner radio includes tuning into a first frequency. A pause in a first signal associated with the first frequency is detected. Tuning is switched from the first frequency to a second frequency during the pause. Fieldstrength, multipath, adjacent channel energy, frequency offset and FM modulation for the second frequency are measured. Tuning is switched from the second frequency to the first frequency. Tuning is switched from the first frequency to the second frequency dependent upon the measuring step.
Abstract:

Abstract:
A mobile content distribution system in an airplane, a train, or a bus is capable of receiving wireless broadcast channels from a wireless service provider. The system offers a user purchase of wireless services including one or more broadcast channels provided by the wireless service provider, receives information indicative of a route from an originating location to a destination location, and determines if the content distribution system is authorized to receive services from the wireless service provider according to the information; and if the content distribution system is not authorized to receive services from the wireless service provider according to the information, the system provide a refund to the user. If the system is within an authorized area, the system determines if the system is authorized to provide full service from the wireless service provider according to the information and if the system is not authorized to provide full service, the system provides a partial refund to the user.
Abstract:
A digital broadcast receiving apparatus includes a receiving unit configured to receive a digital broadcast signal in which predetermined data is transmitted repeatedly. A transmission time estimating unit estimates a transmission time for transmitting data per transmission unit, by analyzing separation information contained in the digital broadcast signal where the separation information describes a time for the transmission unit of data corresponding to the predetermined data. A determining unit determines whether content of the predetermined data has been updated for each data reception starting time after the transmission time has been estimated. If the content has not been updated, the control unit inhibits reception processing by the receiving unit for a predetermined period of time based on the estimated transmission time, and if the content has been updated, the control unit permits the reception processing by the receiving unit.
Abstract:
A delay controller performs a delay control so as to stepwise increase a first delay amount in a first delay generator or second delay generator so as to minimize the delay amount of a video signal and an audio signal output from a first AV decoder and a second AV decoder. Thus, immediately after channel selection, the first video signal and the first audio signal or the second video signal and the second audio signal are output without a delay. This can provide a receiver capable of synchronizing the video signal output and the audio signal output between a plurality of receivable broadcast methods.
Abstract:
A digital television and a channel editing method are provided wherein various channel information is edited efficiently. In the channel edit method of the digital TV, the channel information stored according to a user's request is displayed on a multi-window. If the user selects a channel based on the multi-window, the channel selected by the user is tuned by a tuner and displayed as a moving picture. The user can edit the corresponding channel referring to the multi-window. In another embodiment, the user can edit the set favorite channel(s) separately. The broadcast status of all channels can be recognized almost instantaneously by viewing the multi-window displaying all the broadcast programs of multiple channels.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a digital broadcast receiver which includes a TS processing unit. The TS processing unit comprises reference packet detection units (162a, 162b), that detect timing information of two sets of received TS packet data, a delay adjustment unit (163) that aligns the processing timings of both sets of TS packet data by delaying one of the two sets of TS packet data based on the detected timing information, and a selection unit (165) that selects by packet one of the two sets of TS packet data for output.
