A sheet piling barrier is installed into a slurry wall construction to provide improved fluid barrier capability and/or structural integrity. A void creation device allows removal of cementitious material from around the engagement lock element of an installed sheet piling member to prevent interference with engagement of the engagement lock element of a subsequently installed sheet piling member after hardening of the slurry wall.

A guide hole (200) is formed as far as the depth specified in the design at the center of the panel to be made. Excavation is started with the introduction into the guide hole (200) of a guide element (101) that is fixed with respect to the tool-holder frame and having geometry such as to copy the guide hole along which it slides during excavation. Excavation is carried out as far as the depth specified in the design. The tool is extracted from the excavation and the excavation is filled with concrete and a panel is formed. The method is repeated so as to form adjacent panels.

A process for grouting a super-thin curtain with polymer, includes: forming a series of V-shaped injecting holes by direct pushing method using a special drilling tool along a dam or dike axis spacedly at a predetermined distance; and injecting a two-component polymer composition into each of the holes, wherein the mixed polymer material expends and coagulates under chemical reaction to form a series of super-thin curtain segments, and the curtain segments connect with each other end to end to form a continuous and impermeable polymer curtain.
