Abstract: Inline storage pouches and systems for receiving and retaining body fluids from an animal are presented. The inline storage pouch include a flexible pouch body has an interior portion with a fluid storage material disposed within the interior portion. In addition to receiving body fluids, the inline storage pouch may fluidly couple a pressure sensing conduit between a first port and a second port using a first bypass conduit. The first port may be a patient-port interface. The second port may be a device-port interface. Multiple sensors and bypass conduits may be included and associated with a microprocessor that is configured to locate blockages or determine when the inline storage pouch is full. Another inline storage pouch has two chambers and receives and discharges fluids from a pouch connector. Other pouches, systems, and methods are presented herein.

Abstract: In some examples, a dressing filler for treating a tissue site may include a plurality of filler elements and a tissue interface layer. Each of the filler elements may include a first surface and a second surface opposite the first surface and separated from the first surface by a thickness. The tissue interface layer may include a first side configured to be positioned facing the tissue site and a second side positioned opposite the first side. The first surface of each of the filler elements may be coupled to the second side of the tissue interface layer. Also provided are other apparatuses, dressings, systems, and methods suitable for treating a tissue site.

Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, and methods for providing negative pressure to a tissue site are disclosed. Illustrative embodiments may include an apparatus or system comprising a dressing for treating a tissue site with negative pressure. For example, the dressing may comprise or consist essentially of a manifold and a contact layer. In some embodiments, the manifold may have a tubular shape with a central axis. The contact layer may comprise a polymer film completely or substantially enclosing the manifold in some examples. In further embodiments, the dressing may comprise a plurality of fluid restrictions in the contact layer, the fluid restrictions configured to open or expand in response to a pressure gradient across the polymer film.

Abstract: In one example embodiment, an apparatus may include a panel with integrated fluid channels, wherein the panel and the fluid channel consist only of surfaces that can be manufactured with a straight-pull mold. A port may also be integrated into the panel to facilitate coupling the fluid channel to pneumatic components in an assembly. A seal may be secured to the panel over the fluid channel to form an integrated fluid conductor. The seal is preferably an adhesive label that can also be used for product labeling. Such an apparatus may be used in a control unit of a therapy system, employing several integrated fluid conductors. A method of manufacturing may include molding a panel, wherein the mold forms a channel integral to the panel. The panel and the channel preferably consist of surfaces that can be molded with a straight-pull mold.

Abstract: A method for detecting a state of a dressing includes measuring air pressure within a tube. The tube provides airflow between a pump device and the dressing. The method also includes determining whether the air pressure differs from a pressure setpoint by more than a preset limit, and running the pump to cause the air pressure to approach the pressure setpoint. In response to a determination that the air pressure does not differ from the pressure setpoint by more than the preset limit, the method also includes determining a duration of time since a last running of the pump, determining whether the duration of time since the last running of the pump exceeds a threshold duration, and, in response to a determination that the duration of time since the last running of the pump exceeds the threshold duration, generating an alert that indicates that the dressing is full.
