Abstract: A method for the production of microfluidic cells using a disc-shaped glass element is provided. The disc-shaped glass element has a thickness of at most 700 micrometers is structured in such a way that it has at least one opening. The opening connects the two opposite-lying, parallel side faces of the glass element. The side faces are attached to a glass part so that the opening is sealed by the two glass parts to form a microfluidic cell having a cavity enclosed therein. The cavity is suitable for the conveyance of fluids. The attachment of the glass element to at least one of the two glass parts is produced by an adhesive that is applied onto the side face of the glass element. During application of the adhesive, the at least one opening in the glass element is left free of adhesive.

Abstract: A method is provided for producing a raised feature on a glass ceramic element, in which a glass or glass ceramic element is irradiated with electromagnetic radiation in a local region of the surface, the radiation passes through the element and is at least partially absorbed thereby so that the element heats up in the region of the irradiated electromagnetic radiation and is heated beyond a glass transition temperature. The irradiation is terminated after heating so that the heated region cools down to the temperature of material surrounding the local region. The heating causes a change in volume of the element, which brings about a local elevation in the surface that remains after the local region cools so that a surface deformation in the form of an elevation remains after cooling.

Abstract: A method for producing a glass article having high hydrolytic resistance is provided. A glass tube consisting of borosilicate glass and having an Al2O3 content of less than 1 weight-%, a ZrO2 content of 2-12 weight-%, and a glass transition temperature Tg is reshaped into a glass article and is subsequently subjected to a thermal post-treatment. To reduce the alkali release of the glass article, the glass article is subjected to a treatment temperature of TB≥Tg+5° K over a treatment time of tB≥5 min and is subsequently cooled during the thermal post-treatment.
