    摘要: Embodiments describe a varied transmission time interval in wireless communication system. According to some embodiments is a method for assigning a transmission time interval. The method can include measuring a channel condition and/or a data rate of packet communicated by at least one wireless device. Based in part on the data rate and/or channel condition information, a determination can be made whether to schedule a long transmission time interval or a short transmission time interval to the packet. A long transmission time interval can be scheduled if the channel condition is poor and/or there is a low data rate. A short transmission time interval can be scheduled if the channel condition is good and/or the data rate is high or fast. The method can be repeated for multiple wireless devices. Also included is an alternative interlacing structure that supports both long transmission time intervals and short transmission time intervals.

    摘要: Systems and methods are described that facilitate improving paging signal strength at or near sector perimeters in a wireless network region by transmitted identical paging waveforms simultaneously from all sectors in the region and permitting over-the-air signal aggregation to combine signal energy near sector perimeters. Waveforms can be modulated using an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing technique and can be simultaneously transmitted according to predefined transmission resources over a multi-sector broadcast paging channel reserved for such identical waveforms. Cyclic prefix can be added to the identical waveforms to mitigate problems associated with delay spread and/or time-of-arrival differences at or near sector perimeters.

    摘要: For an iterative channel and interference estimation and decoding scheme, prior information for channel gain and interference is initially obtained based on received pilot symbols. Forward information for code bits corresponding to received data symbols is derived based on the received data symbols and the prior information and then decoded to obtain feedback information for the code bits corresponding to the received data symbols. A posteriori information for channel gain and interference for each received data symbol is derived based on the feedback information for that received data symbol. The a posteriori information for the received data symbols and the prior information are combined to obtain updated information for channel gain and interference for each received data symbol. The process can be repeated for any number of iterations. The prior, a posteriori, and updated information may be represented by joint probability distributions on channel gain and interference. The forward and feedback information may be represented by log-likelihood ratios.

    摘要: To transmit a multi-carrier signal, a transmitter provides zero symbols for guard subbands, performs OFDM modulation, and filters the resultant time-domain samples with a pulse shaping filter. To transmit a single-carrier signal, the transmitter partitions the single-carrier signal into segments. Each segment contains up to K samples and is padded, if needed, to the length of an OFDM symbol. Each padded segment is transformed from the time domain to the frequency domain to generate a corresponding frequency-domain segment with K symbols. For each frequency-domain segment, the symbols corresponding to the guard subbands are set to zero. Each frequency-domain segment is then transformed from the frequency domain to the time domain to generate a corresponding time-domain segment. A cyclic prefix may or may not be appended to each time-domain segment. Each time-domain segment is filtered with the same pulse shaping filter to generate an output waveform for the single-carrier signal.

    摘要: Apparatus and methods for rate prediction in a wireless communication system having fractional frequency reuse are disclosed. A wireless communication system implementing Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) can implement a fractional frequency reuse plan where a portion of carriers is allocated for terminals not anticipating handoff and another portion of the carriers is reserved for terminals having a higher probability of handoff. Each of the portions can define a reuse set. The terminals can be constrained to frequency hop within a reuse set. The terminal can also be configured to determine a reuse set based on a present assignment of a subset of carriers. The terminal can determine a channel estimate and a channel quality indicator based in part on at least the present reuse set. The terminal can report the channel quality indicator to a source, which can determine a rate based on the index value.

    摘要: Dynamic resource allocation systems, apparatus, and methods are disclosed for selectively improving the ability of a receiver to determine a channel estimate in an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) system. A wireless communication system can use a common pilot channel configuration to aid channel estimation in one or more receivers in communication with the system. A receiver in communication with the system may be unable to demodulate received data due to an inaccurate channel estimate. The receiver can communicate to a transmitter in the system a request for additional channel estimation resources. The wireless communication system can provide additional channel estimation resources by inserting dedicated pilot channels into one or more of the frequencies allocated to symbols for the receiver. If the receiver is still unable to demodulate received data, the wireless communication system can incrementally insert additional pilot channels in the symbol associated with the receiver.
