    摘要: An edge connector is adapted for use with a printed circuit board having a mating edge and a plurality of contact pads on opposite sides of the board adjacent the edge. The connector includes an elongated dielectric housing having a slot for receiving the mating edge of the printed circuit board. A plurality of terminals are mounted on the housing along the slot. Each terminal includes a pair of side support portions fixed to the housing outside opposite sides of the slot, a cross brace portion extending between the side support portions, a terminating portion projecting below the cross brace portion and a spring contact arm projecting upwardly from the cross brace portion and including a contact portion for engaging one of the contact pads on the printed circuit board. The terminals are oriented in an alternating array along the slot whereby the contact portions alternatingly engage contact pads on opposite sides of the printed circuit board.

    摘要: An articulated shield tunneling machine suitable for excavation along a curvature with an articulated shield having front and rear shield sections. In contrast to the conventional apparatus which suffers from various disadvantages such as interference between the front ends of shield jacks with front shield section and necessity for expensive strong construction of shield jacks, the articulated shield tunneling machine of the present invention has trunnions (10) to which the shield jacks (7) are connected, and the trunnions (10) are connected to front portions of the rear shield section (1b) for pivotal movement in the radial direction of the articulated shield (1). Each trunnion (10) can have therein an elastic member which urges the front end of the shield jack (7) towards the center of the articulated shield (1). With this arrangement, it is possible to conduct excavation along a curve of a small radius of curvature, with a simple and inexpensive articulated shield composed of two shield sections, without allowing any interference between the shield jacks and the front shield section.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for controlling the injection of fuel into an internal combustion engine having a plurality of unit injectors which are each controllable separately for each cylinder of the engine. The occurrence of a malfunction in the fuel injection of each of the injectors is discriminated in accordance with the engine operating condition detected by sensors whereby when the presence of a malfunction in the injector of any one of the cylinders is discriminated, the operation of the engine is not stopped but the operation is continued in a fault mode of operation so that the injection of fuel from the malfunctioning injector is stopped and the injection of fuel from the injector of at least one of the other cylinders is stopped or its number of events of injection is decreased from the standpoint of balance in the generation of engine power output.

Then, after the plurality of slave lasers arrive at a steady state, by measuring the polarization of light generated by each slave laser with left-handed circular polarization and right-handed circular polarization used as bases, a pseudo spin of each slave laser is measured.

    摘要: Differential phase shift (DPS) quantum key distribution (QKD) is provided, where the average number of photons per transmitted pulse is predetermined such that the secure key generation rate is maximal or nearly maximal, given other system parameters. These parameters include detector quantum efficiency, channel transmittance and pulse spacing (or clock rate). Additional system parameters that can optionally be included in the optimization include baseline error rate, sifted key error rate, detector dead time, detector dark count rate, and error correction algorithm performance factor. The security analysis leading to these results is based on consideration of a hybrid beam splitter and intercept-resend attack.
