摘要： Synthetic absorbable sutures are filled with a stabilizing agent, preferably a mixture of glycerol and calcium lactate, and inserted into a retainer having a narrow convoluted passageway. The retainer is inserted into an open foil pouch with a package stabilizing element, such as a paper sheet filled with stabilizing agent. The package containing the suture, retainer and package stabilizing element is sterilized, aerated, equilibrated to a relatively high moisture level, and sealed. Long lengths of suture and doubled-over and tripled-over suture may be withdrawn from the retainer with low force without damaging the suture. Bends and kinks in the suture are prevented so as to provide a synthetic absorbable suture having highly desirable out of package hand and feel. The suture as removed from the package exhibits improved tissue drag characteristics.

摘要： A method for redirecting calls to a cordless telephone wherein the user of the cordless telephone registers a location code at a call redirecting module. The location code informs the call redirecting module to redirect calls, that are directed to a first telephone unit, to a base station which is part of a network. The base station transmits the call, so that the cordless telephone receives the call if it is within the range of the base station. In the event that the cordless telephone receives the call, it transmits an acknowledgement signal. The base unit will cease to transmit the call if it does not detect the acknowledge signal within a predetermined time interval.

摘要： A package is disclosed for containing a plurality of combined surgical suture devices, particularly of the double armed type having a pledget and used for cardiovascular surgical procedures. A backing panel has a protective cover adhesively affixed to one side and defines a plurality of straight elongated suture tracks for reception of the flexible suture portion therein. An aperture is positioned at each end of each track to facilitate reception of the flexible suture portion into the track and drawing a vacuum therein to assist drawing the flexible suture portion into the track. Preferred embodiments include separate features such as a foam needle park or an end flap configured to support the suture needles beneath tabs. Still another embodiment includes and end flap which defines pockets to receive the needles. A method for packaging such sutures is also disclosed.

摘要： The door inner and outer panels are detachably attached to one another to permit separation to access the space therebetween containing the door hardware. A device mounts the door inner panel and the door outer panel on the vehicle body for independent hinging movement so that the panels move between door open and door closed position in unison with one another when the panels are attached, and the detachment of the panels from one another permits the outer panel to swing away from the inner panel to provide unobstructed access to the door hardware mounted in the space between the panels. The inner and outer panels may be constructed of molded plastic and with one panel having a receptacle receiving the door guard beam and the other panel having an integral molded structure receiving the receptacle upon attachment of the panels together so that the door guard beam becomes effectively coupled with both of the panels. Integrally molded innerlocks are preferably provided on the molded inner and outer panels to mate with one another when the panels are attached together. Attachment of the panels is provided by a plurality of fasteners which extend between the integrally molded innerlock features.

摘要： A combustion turbine vane assembly is shown having a retainer block mounting each individual cooled turbine vane. The retainer block has a pair of axially extending opposed rails for sliding receipt of complementary engaging opposed rails on the outer surface of the vane shroud. The block defines a cooling air aperture therethrough. The inner surface of the block is supported a predetermined distance from the opposed surface of the vane shroud defining a cooling fluid receiving chamber therein. The separated distance permits controlled cooling air leakage into a space between the block and the outer shroud. The radial walls of adjacent outer shrouds have complementary axial grooves machined therein and a seal member is disposed therein to bridge the gap and minimize loss of the cooling air.

A Personal Digital Key stores a biometric profile that comprises a representation of physical or behavioral characteristics that are uniquely associated with an individual that owns and carries the PDK. The PDK wirelessly transmits the biometric profile over a secure wireless transaction to a Reader for use in a biometric authentication process. The Reader compares the received biometric profile to a biometric input acquired at the point of transaction in order to determine if the transaction should be authorized.

摘要： A module for high speed image processing includes an image sensor for generating a plurality of analog outputs representing an image and a plurality of HDDs for concurrently processing the plurality of analog outputs. Each HDD is an integrated circuit configured to process in parallel a predetermined set of the analog outputs. Each channel of the HDD can include an AFE for conditioning a signal representing one sensor analog output, an ADC for converting a conditioned signal into a digital signal, and a data formatting block for calibrations and formatting the digital signal for transport to an off-chip device. The HDDs and drive electronics are combined with the image sensor into one package to optimize signal integrity and high dynamic range, and to achieve high data rates through use of synchronized HDD channels. Combining multiple modules results in a highly scalable imaging subsystem optimized for inspection and metrology applications.

摘要： A personal digital key (e.g., which can be carried by a human) contains a memory having different service blocks. Each service block is accessible by a corresponding service block access key. As the personal digital key (PDK) moves around, it is detected by sensors. The sensors report position data, thus enabling location tracking of the PDK. The sensors also provide a data path to various applications. An application that has access to a service block access key can therefore access the corresponding service block on the PDK. The sensors themselves may also contain service block access keys.
