Abstract:
A string anchor bracket useful is mounted to the underside of a bridge plate for anchoring a guitar string to a guitar bridge. The anchor bracket has plurality of notches on an anchor bracket plate spaced apart by depending members that depend from the plate at its forward edge forming slots that lead to corresponding notches.
Abstract:
A retention packaging includes a support member having first and second sections each defining a support surface for receiving an object thereon for shipping, and a film disposed in covering relation to the support surfaces of the support member and retained to the support member at the first and second sections. The first and second sections are pivotably connected to one another along a fold line that transects the support member. The film includes opposite ends each enclosing a respective opposite end of the support member and defining overlapping areas of the film that are permanently joined together, and a pleated portion that is located between the opposite ends of the film and that includes at least one fold in the film. The film is removably secured to itself so as to removably secure the at least one fold of the pleated portion.
Abstract:
An inkjet fixer composition and a printing method and system used with the composition are disclosed herein. The composition includes: a) from 1 to 8 weight percent cationic polymer; and b) from 0 to 2 weight percent of at least one surfactant selected from the group consisting of nonionic surfactant, cationic surfactant and combinations thereof; and c) an aqueous liquid vehicle. Upon overprinting the fixer composition with an ink-jet ink on a substrate, the fixer composition vehicle and the ink-jet ink vehicle form a vehicle mixture on the substrate after which the vehicle mixture penetrates into the substrate, and an ink image is formed on the substrate.
Abstract:
The present invention provides compounds of formula I: along with methods of use of these compounds as pharmaceuticals, particularly in the treatment of obesity, metabolic syndrome, atherosclerosis, cardiovascular disease, insulin resistance, diseases associated with reduced neuronal metabolism, and cancer as well as the use of these compounds for treatment of pathogens of humans and animals, and for the control of agricultural pests, particularly fungi, weeds and insects.
Abstract:
A method for operating a battery having a plurality of battery cells includes determining when certain end of life criteria for the battery are met. A counter is incremented when the certain end of life criteria are met. The battery is rebalanced when it is determined that the end of life criteria are met, and the counter is not greater than a predetermined value. An end of life of the battery is indicated when it is determined that the end of life criteria are met, and the counter is greater than the predetermined value.
Abstract:
An anti-splash device for use in a cup or other container can help prevent or minimize sloshing, splashing and other undesirable movement of fluids. In some embodiments, the device includes a main body portion having a plurality of openings. The device can also include one or more features that are configured to engage an interior wall of the cup or other container. In other embodiments, the anti-splash device can attach to the brim of a cup or to a lid. In other embodiments, an anti-splash device, a cup lid or any other components related to a beverage or food container comprises one or more finger guides that provide targeted points of contact when manipulating such a device.
Abstract:
A process for removing selenium from an aqueous stream using a supported sulfur material, and optionally the addition of an activating agent for enhanced removal of selenite, is disclosed.
Abstract:
The present invention provides microparticles that create permanent tissue markings, such as tattoos, designed in advance for change and/or removal on demand, as well as methods for implanting the microparticles in tissue and changing and/or removing the resulting markings. Colored microparticles are constructed with specific electromagnetic absorption and/or structural properties that facilitate changing and/or removing tissue markings made using the microparticles by applying specific energy (such as electromagnetic radiation from a laser or flash-lamp) to the tissue marking site.
Abstract:
A method for translating data packets from one network protocol to another is disclosed. A set of translation templates is constructed. The translation templates are then loaded into a translation template cache. In response to a data packet from a first network arriving at a translation router, an appropriate translation template is selected from the set of translation templates within the translation template cache according to the translation context of the data packet. Next, a new header for transmission into a second network is constructed by reading header fields of the data packet from the first network along with the appropriate translation template in the translation template cache. The data payload of the data packet from the first network is subsequently removed from the header of the data packet and then appended to the constructed header of the second network. Finally, the newly constructed data packet is transmitted to the second network.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a novel multi-spectral exogenous fluorescence polarization imaging technique that enables rapid imaging of large tissue fields. The imaging device includes a tunable monochromatic light source and a CCD camera. Linear polarizers are placed into both the incident and collected light pathways in order to obtain fluorescence polarization or/and anisotropy image. To acquire exogenous fluorescence image, fluorescent contrast agents are delivered to a target tissue.
