Abstract: The disclosure relates to a 5G or 6G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate. A method for coordinating an unavailability period parameter of User Equipment (UE) in wireless network is provided. The method includes determining, by an Application Function (AF) of a network apparatus in the wireless network, the unavailability period parameter for the UE based on at least one event to be performed at the UE. Further, the method includes sending, by the AF of the network apparatus, the unavailability period parameter for the UE to an Access and Mobility Management Function (AMF) of the network apparatus. Further, the method includes configuring the unavailability period parameter at the UE. In an embodiment, UE detects it has to execute the event, UE initiates a non-access stratum (NAS) procedure to indicate it will become unavailable by indicating the unavailability period parameter to the 5th generation core (5GC), 5GC forwards the unavailability period parameter to the AF, with this the co-ordination between UE, 5GC and AF is achieved.

Abstract: Methods and systems for controlling permissions of a UE for accessing a network. A method disclosed herein includes initiating, by a User Equipment (UE), a registration procedure with a serving network for accessing a selected network, wherein the selected network includes one of at least one CAG cell of an NPN and a VPLMN. The registration procedure indicates a network selection mode using which the UE has selected the network and the network selection mode includes one of an automatic mode and a manual mode. The method further incudes determining, by the serving network, a reject mode for rejecting the registration request of the UE based on the network selection mode indicated in the registration request, when the permissions of the UE to access the selected network have not been verified, wherein the reject mode includes a protected reject mode and an unprotected reject mode.

The method includes: receiving, from a first server (110a, 112a, 118), data packets related to the service; determining that the UE (102) locates in a service area where the service is provided by both the first server (110a, 112a, 118) and a second server (110b, 112b); establishing a connection of the UE (102) with the second server (110b) based on determining that the UE (102) locates in the service area; transmitting, to the first server (110a, 112a, 118), information related to the connection of the UE (102) with the second server (110b, 112b); receiving, from the first server (110a, 112a, 118), information including a notification which indicates a transfer of application context of the service to the second server (110b, 112b) is completed; switching the connection from the first server (110a, 112a, 118) to the second server (110b, 112b) based on receiving the information including the notification; receiving, from the first server (110a, 112a, 118), end data packets related to the service, in response to switching the connection; and continuing the service using the established connection with the second server (110b, 112b) based on the received end data packets.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to a 5th generation (5G) or 6th generation (6G) communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate. A method for handling a Non access stratum (NAS) procedure (e.g., service request (SR) procedure or the like) by a user equipment (UE) in a wireless network is provided. The method includes triggering the SR procedure and determining a transmission failure of the SR or a control plane service request message in response to triggering the SR procedure. Further, the method includes determining whether the SR procedure is triggered for a reason comprising one of requesting the wireless network to release a NAS signaling connection, and rejecting a paging request from the wireless network, or requesting the wireless network to release the NAS signaling connection. Further, the method includes performing one of aborting the SR procedure triggered due to the reason in response to determining the transmission failure, or re-triggering the SR procedure triggered not due to the reason in response to determining the transmission failure.

Disclosed is a method performed by a UE, the method comprising: having at least one existing PDU session associated with an S-NSSAI; requesting, from an upper layer, a new PDU session; determining a condition; performing checking operations comprising: (i) checking whether allowed NSSAI includes only one S-NSSAI, and (ii) checking whether any of the at least one existing PDU sessions have an attribute which matches a corresponding attribute in the requested new PDU session; and when both checking operations (i) and (ii) are true: selecting a PDU session from the at least one existing PDU sessions which matches at least one attribute, determining that the selected PDU session can be used or associated with the request from the upper layer, and forwarding details of the selected PDU session to the upper layer.

The method includes determining, by the multi SIM that the multi SIM UE needs to initiate an active data session on a second SIM network based on one of a paging message received by the multi SIM UE from the second SIM network and at least one MO activity which needs to be delivered using the second SIM network. Further, the method includes sending, by the multi SIM UE, a leaving operator message to the first SIM network indicating that the multi SIM UE is leaving the first SIM network; and switching, by the multi SIM UE, from the first SIM network to the second SIM network by triggering procedures to initiate the active data session on the second SIM network.-

Abstract: Embodiments herein achieve a method for handling registration and session management in a wireless communication system. The method includes registering, by a User Equipment (UE), with a first core network entity over a 3GPP access network and a non-3GPP access network. Further, the method includes triggering, by the UE, a registration procedure to a second core network over the 3GPP access network when a periodic timer of the UE expires in an OOS state. Further, the method includes receiving, by the UE, a non-access stratum (NAS) message, over the 3GPP access network, with an indication to register for the non-3GPP access network with the second core network entity. Further, the method includes reinitiating the registration procedure to register again for the non-3GPP access with the second core network entity through the non-3GPP access network.

Further, the method includes transmitting, by the N3IWF interface entity (180a) of the 3GPP system 3GPP system (100), the at least one public safety warning message to at least one User Equipment (UE) over the non-3gpp access.
