Abstract: The present invention provides a method and system for performing Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ) operation in an asymmetric multicarrier communication network environment. In one embodiment, a method includes receiving resource allocation information from a base station in a scheduling interval of a first carrier, where the resource allocation information indicates resources and transmit time interval in an uplink allocation interval. The method includes transmitting the HARQ packet to the base station in the transmit time interval of the uplink allocation interval on the second carrier if the transmit time interval corresponds to a first partition of the uplink allocation interval. If the transmit time interval corresponds to a second partition of the uplink allocation interval, the method further includes transmitting the HARQ packet to the base station in the transmit time interval of the uplink allocation interval on the second carrier according to a second type of HARQ process.

The method according to an embodiment of the present invention, as a method of controlling a macro cell base station when a terminal that is communicating with the macro cell base station performs channel access with a small cell base station in a wireless network capable of using a plurality of transmitting/receiving beams, may include the steps of: determining whether to request a channel setting for a call for the terminal to the small cell base station when a signal strength measurement report for a channel synchronized with the small cell base station is received from the terminal; providing information including at least one of recommending information on the transmitting/receiving beams of the terminal and position information on the terminal in a request message to the small cell base station when a channel setting request to the small cell base station is decided upon; stopping the transmission of data to the terminal and a set data radio bearer (DRB2) when a response message for accepting the channel setting for the terminal is received from the small cell base station; transmitting a radio resource control access reconfiguration message to the terminal to communicate with the small cell base station; and providing information on data to be transmitted and received by the terminal to the small cell base station.

Embodiments of present disclosure relates to apparatus and method for enabling optimized decoding of data packet in HARQ based communication in wireless communication network. Initially, unsuccessful decoding of instant data packet received from transmitting unit is identified. If number of previous data packets, received preceding the instant data packet, is greater than one, subsequent decoding is enabled in the receiving unit for the instant data packet. The subsequent decoding includes generating sequentially, modified versions of data packets, for decoding. The modified versions comprises all possible weighted combinations of the data packets with at least one of the instant data packet and one or more of the previous data packets. Each of the modified versions is decoded individually and a subsequent modified version from the modified versions is generated when unsuccessful decoding is identified for previously generated modified version from the modified versions.-
