摘要: An optical disc having address information recorded in a wobbling manner is arranged to record or reproduce data at correct positions. A track is previously formed as a pregroove and is wobbled in accordance with address information. The track is divided into a plurality of sectors. A plurality of sync marks S are formed in each sector, and at least one of the sync marks in one round of the track is formed as a reference mark R different from the other sync marks S. To reduce overhead and to achieve high-density random recording and reproduction, a method may also be used in which one cluster of data is formed of a data area and a link area located between data areas and consisting of two frames, in which each of the data area and the link area has a structure formed of unit frames separated by a sync signal (frame sync), and in which data is recorded or reproduced as unit clusters.

摘要: Recording data is recorded on a CD-ROM so as to satisfy a relationship expressed as W.gtoreq.D and W>m where W is the data length of recording data recorded on the CD-ROM, D is the data length of effective data useful for being accessed (system area, file groups selected when data is edited and retrieval data such as volume descriptor, path table and directory) and m is the maximum recordable data length of a blank disk of a CD-ROM to which data recorded on the CD-ROM is copied. Then, when the relationship between the recording data length W and the effective data length D is expressed by W>D, said recording data contains randomly quasi-data useless for being accessed. Further, a part (e.g., path table) of the retrieval data is arranged at the end of the recording data upon recording. Thus, an illegal copy from the CD-ROM to a blank disk becomes substantially useless, thereby making it possible to effectively protect a copyright of the CD-ROM.

摘要: A porous and spherical silica is recovered in high yields from a neutralized product of an alkali silicate obtained by using an acrylamide type polymer as a coagulation growing agent, and the above silica is reacted as a precursor with a metal compound of the Group II of periodic table in an aqueous medium to obtain amorphous or fine, laminar and crystalline porous and spherical silica or silicate granules having a high degree of true sphericality, a symmetrical grain size distribution and a refractive index over a range of from 1.4 to 1.7. The porous and spherical granules have a primary grain diameter of 0.3 to 30 .mu.m as observed through an electron microscope, have an apparent specific gravity of from 0.05 to 0.5 g/ml, and are cheaply obtained in high yields, and can hence be used as a filler for various paints and resins. In particularly, the granules excellently disperse in the resins, have a refractive index close to those of the resins, are not crushed during the kneading with resins or extrusion, or do not damage the apparatus. The films obtained by using these granules exhibit very excellent transparency, anti-blocking property and scar resistance. Moreover, the porous and spherical zinc phyllosilicate type granules having fine grain sizes and symmetrical grain size distributions, are excellent in their odor scavenging property and sweat controlling property.

摘要: A reference position detection method of a vehicle rear wheel steering apparatus in the present invention, is provided with steps of setting an input shaft and the yoke assembly at arbitrary angular positions rotating the input shaft by an arbitrary angle to pass a neutral angular position measuring a rotational angle .theta. of the input shaft and a moving amount .delta.1 of an output rod assembly upon rotation of the input shaft rotating the yoke assembly to pass a neutral angular position so that the output rod assembly is stroke-moved by a moving amount -.delta.1 from a stroke position defined by the moving amount .delta.1 of the output rod assembly rotating the input shaft by an angle -.theta. after rotating the yoke assembly, and measuring a moving amount .delta.2 of the output rod assembly; and determining, as a reference position of the yoke assembly, an angular position obtained by rotating the yoke assembly from the rotated state of the input shaft so that the output rod assembly is displaced by -.delta.2.sup.2 /(.delta.1+.delta.2).
