Abstract: The radially outermost marginal portion of a flat washer-like or disc-shaped belt in a belt conveyor is confined in an arcuate slot of a reinforcing member which has (a) a bead surrounding the peripheral surface of the marginal portion, and (b) two lips each of which extends radially inwardly of the bead and overlies one of the two lateral surfaces of the marginal portion. The lips are fastened to the belt, and the bead has a convex external surface which is guided by pairs of rolling elements at locations radially outwardly of fasteners which secure the lips to the belt. This reduces the likelihood of spreading of the open inner end of the slot and resulting rapid destruction of the reinforcing member.

Abstract: A conveyor belt is adapted in endless design to follow, through a part of its length, a path comprising a number of superimposed, helically extending tiers. The conveyor belt consists of mutually articulated and relatively adjustable links, each comprising a bottom part and spacers arranged at the longitudinal edges of the bottom part, the spacers forming the two sides of the belt, the upper edge portions of the spacers being adapted to engage the lower edge portions of overlying tiers of the conveyor belt and fixedly connected through a part of their length to the longitudinal edges of the bottom part, the remaining part being movable relative to the bottom part. Abstract: A curved conveyor element is provided which comprises outer and inner spaced curved frame members having first and second ends. A pivotal head is rotatably mounted to the frame at one end, a row of rollers being provided in the pivotal head and a second row being secured to the other end of the frame. An endless conveyor belt passes around both rows of rollers, and is driven by a drive attached to the belt by elastic dog members. Removable supporting elements are positioned between the outer and inner frame members substantially coplanar with the conveyor belt. The pivotal head is rotatable to a position above the upper reach of the belt to permit the belt to be installed and removed through a slot defined by the removable supporting elements.

Abstract: The present invention provides a tension-setting edge clamp with an improved linkage and an improved anchor point location so that when in use in sets of pairs, to pull broken belt ends toward one another for reconnection, wherein the anchor point for the center of pull on each clamp is aligned with the center of the clamping jaws of the same clamp, to minimize belt twisting, yet not interfere with the site of the adjoining broken edges. Abstract: A conveyor belt curve comprising two rows of rollers for deflecting or turning an endless conveyor belt. The roller rows each consist of a number of cylindrical rolls. The conveyor belt is driven by means of a driven chain through the agency of chain fixed-entrainment members or elements. The chain is guided within guide rails for the upper and lower chain runs, these guide rails determining the curvature of the curved portion of the conveyor belt curve. The entrainment elements contain rolls or rollers rollingly supported at the guide rails. The endless conveyor belt is held in a tensioned state by means of special tension springs. These springs are formed of an elastomeric material and have a preferred loop-shaped configuration.
