摘要： An indicator device for vehicles has an information indicator panel, and a cover provided in front of the panel. The cover comprises a base layer, a polarizing layer, an anti-glare layer and an anti-reflection layer. The cover is arranged so that P-polarized light from the polarizing layer becomes incident to a front windshield in an angle of about 56null. Thus, the reflectance of the P-polarized light is reduced to about zero, and the light emitted from the panel is restricted from forming a virtual image by reflection on the front windshield.

摘要： An improved seal assembly provides a mechanical seal for a housing having a window panel of dissimilar material which prevents moisture from entering the housing or liquid escaping the housing over a wide range of temperature and environmental conditions, without loading the window panel to a stressful condition. The seal member is subject to a reduced level of radial force in a limited portion of the seal member across the seal groove and does not have to be pressed from all sides to maintain a seal while accommodating expansion and contraction. Positioning means stabilizes the panel to provide a uniform seal groove.

The meter panel includes a transparent base plate, a transparent colored layer applied to a rear surface of the transparent base platen and a fluorescent transparent substance layer applied to a front surface of the transparent base plate. A visual alarm indicator includes an opaque mark mounted to a given portion of the meter panel, a lamp housing having an open end which is connected to a rear surface of the meter panel in such a manner as to face toward the given portion and an electric lamp installed in the lamp housing. An ultraviolet lamp is arranged in front of the meter panel and generates ultraviolet rays upon electric energization thereof.

摘要： A leak tight position sensor or transducer (10) comprising a housing (12) having a cavity (32) with an opening (14) in one side and an aperture (16, 26) in each end of the housing (12). Located within the cavity (32) is a drive block (34) having bushing (36) with a threaded aperture (37) receiving the threaded end (42) of a shaft (40) made of a permanent magnet material. The threaded end (42) of the magnetic shaft (40) has a flat (44) and the other end (46) of the shaft is journalled in an aperture (16) of the housing (12). A metallic contactor (38) attached to the drive block (34) wipably engages an electrical circuit (54) printed on the interior surface (52) of a ceramic substrate (50) proportioned to seal the housing opening (14). Electrical wires (60) inserted through openings (58) in the substrate (50) are soldered to the circuit (54) and not only complete electrical connection and securement of the wires (60) to the circuit (54), but seal the openings (58) in the ceramic substrate (50). The ceramic substrate (50) is joined to the housing by an adhesive (70) which provides a leak tight sealing of the perimeter of the ceramic substrate (50) to the housing opening (14). The transducer (10) can be attached to a rotary diesel injection pump whereby fuel may enter into the interior of the housing (12) without leakage therefrom, and can be internally calibrated while attached to the pump.

摘要： An improvement in the combination of a cylindrical outer frame which is coaxially rotatably mounted on the outside of a cylindrical inner frame as disclosed. The improvement which maintains a sealed condition between the two frames includes a first circumferential groove on the outside of the inner frame, this groove having sloped sidewalls. A second circumferential groove is provided on the inside surface of the outer frame opposite the first groove, the second groove having parallel sidewalls. A sealing ring is positioned within the space defined by the first and second grooves and contacts opposing sidewalls of the two grooves. A biasing means is provided for axially biasing the inner and outer frame with respect to each other so as to assure the sealing condition established by the sealing ring.
