Abstract:
A device for effectively and economically receiving a packet by eliminating temporary memory and a memory controller. The apparatus includes an inspection logic circuit for inspecting data units as soon as they arrive in order to find an error included in the packet and generating control signals according to a result of inspecting a data unit; a multiplexer for receiving data units and distributing the received data units as soon as the data units have arrived; and FIFO memories for receiving the data unit, storing the data unit in a corresponding one of FIFO memories and either deleting or completing storing data units according to the control signals from the inspection logic circuit. The present invention can reduce manufacturing cost of the device by eliminating a temporary memory and a memory controller for the temporary memory and can also reduce processing time.
Abstract:
The method described herein provides for comparing a similarity between various phonetic transcriptions of a specific foreign word on the basis of an English pronunciation similarity comparison algorithm.
Abstract:
A liquid phase oxidation reactor is provided. The liquid phase oxidation reactor includes: a substantially cylindrical reaction vessel having an interior space of a predetermined volume; a lid combined with the reaction vessel on top of the reaction vessel; one or more stirring blades disposed within the reaction vessel and rotating by a driving source disposed on the outside of the reaction vessel; a liquid phase supplying line disposed at a sidewall of the reaction vessel for supplying a liquid phase reactant to the reaction vessel; a liquid phase discharging line disposed at a sidewall of the reaction vessel for draining a product obtained through a chemical reaction out of the reaction vessel; a gas feed nozzle formed in a bent shape for supplying an oxygen containing gas to the reaction vessel; and an angle adjusting means for supporting the gas feed nozzle so that the gas feed nozzle is turned so that the outlet thereof faces one of the stirring blades or the interior sidewall of the reaction vessel.
Abstract:
A method for eliminating a wiggle of a magnetic head in a hard disk drive includes the steps of moving a first magnetic head to a parking area when wiggle is generated in the first magnetic head being in use, checking whether the first magnetic head is positioned in the parking area, using a second magnetic head at which the wiggle is not generated, and eliminating the wiggle by supplying current to the first magnetic head. The eliminating step further includes the step of supplying current to allow the first magnetic head to move to the parking area.
Abstract:
A method of selecting a zone lay-out of a hard disk drive on the basis of head/recording medium performance, which method includes (a) setting a reference position of each of the magnetic heads to measure the head performance, and a reference value of the head performance at the reference position; (b) making a disk drive by selecting a zone lay-out corresponding to the reference value of the head performance; (c) measuring an error rate of all zones of the disk drive by using the selected zone lay-out; and (d) when the measured error rate does not satisfy the reference value, selecting another zone lay-out of another disk drive of lower capacity, and performing the next test on that disk drive.
Abstract:
A device for calculating the number of recording papers on an automatic sheet feeder, including a sheet thickness detector, generating a sheet thickness value, and a sheet pile thickness detector, generating a sheet pile thickness value, which the processor divides by the sheet thickness value, generates and displays the number of the recording papers on the sheet feeder.
Abstract:
A sector pulse generating technique for a hard disk drive, includes storing an original time value before defect occurs in the hard disk drive as a first sector pulse value; storing an offset value after the defect occurs as a second sector pulse value; switching the offset value as needed; and comparing the value switched in the above switching step with a reference value and generating a sector pulse as a result of the comparison.
