Abstract: An example method for wireless communication includes: configuring a wireless device to access a wireless network using a set of at least three components carriers (CCs); dividing the at least three component carriers into groups of component carriers based on whether the component carriers share a span pattern and a starting span for monitoring a Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH) of each component carrier; determining a number of non-overlapping control channel elements (CCE) to monitor for each group of component carriers; and configuring the wireless device to monitor the non-overlapping CCEs based on the determined number to monitor for each group.

The measurement window includes an SMTC window duration. Measurement resource sharing or restriction is described for SSB based inter-frequency measurement objects without measurement gap.

Abstract: Techniques discussed herein can facilitate successful decoding of Physical Downlink Shared Channel (PDSCH) based on a reduced number of retransmissions. Based on a given PDSCH, embodiments discussed herein can communicate feedback (e.g., Hybrid Automatic Repeat reQuest (HARQ) feedback, Channel State Information (CSI) feedback) that indicates an amount of additional information that can allow a User Equipment (UE) to successfully decode the PDSCH. In some embodiments, the feedback can indicate a requested Redundancy Version (RV) sequence that can allow the UE to successfully decode the PDSCH. In other embodiments, the feedback can indicate the amount of additional information, based on which a receiving Base Station (BS) can select a RV sequence.

Abstract: Embodiments of a User Equipment (UE), Generation Node-B (gNB) and methods of communication are disclosed herein. The UE may receive a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) that schedules a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) in a slot, and on a component carrier (CC) of a plurality of CCs, The PDCCH may include a total downlink assignment index (DAI) and a counter DAI for hybrid automatic repeat request acknowledgement (HARQ-ACK) feedback of the PDSCH. The total DAI may indicate a total number of pairs of CCs and slots for the HARQ-ACK feedback. The UE may encode the HARQ-ACK feedback to include a bit that indicates whether the PDSCH is successfully decoded. A size of the HARQ-ACK feedback may be based on the total DAI, and a position of the bit may be based on the counter DAI.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) device may reside in a state of dual connectivity with a master cell group (MCG) and a secondary cell group (SCG), wherein the radio access technologies of the MCG and the SCG are different. While in the dual connectivity state, the UE device may transition to a mode of reduced activity (e.g., processing and/or RF activity) relative to the secondary cell group (SCG) in order to save power, e.g., when traffic flow via the SCG is below a threshold, or when scheduling activity on the SCG is low. Various mechanisms may be employed to reduce activity, e.g., mechanisms such as reduction of beam monitoring, deactivation of secondary cells of the SCG, reduction of number of active antenna elements, employment of longer periods for periodic measurement and reporting processes, etc.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for a UE to determine a UL spatial relation for an UL transmission in response to an unknown UL spatial relation switch. The UE may determine whether the UL spatial relation is based on an SRS transmission in UL, a CSI-RS in DL, or an SSB in the DL. If the UL spatial relation is based on the SRS transmission, the UE may select the UL spatial relation for the UL transmission corresponding to a Tx beam of the SRS transmission. If the UL spatial relation is based on the CSI-RS or the SSB, the UE may select the UL spatial relation for the UL transmission based on whether the unknown UL spatial relation switch s due to a corresponding resource for beam training not being configured by a communication network or a corresponding beam information being expired.
