    Abstract: Method and apparatus for a User Equipment (UE) determining a resource for a transmission of a control signal in response to a detected control channel including Control Channel Elements (CCEs), where transmission of the control signal is with a first sequence or with a second sequence, if a first resource or a second resource is used, respectively. The first resource is determined from the CCE index while the second resource is determined from a group of consecutive CCE indexes. The UE is also signaled a bit-map associating the subframe of the control channel detection with the use of a first resource or of a second resource.

    Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are described for transmitting acknowledgement information in a communication system. A method includes receiving one or more data TBs in one or more downlink data channels over TTIs; generating acknowledgement information comprising four acknowledgement bits, jointly representing a state of reception results for the plurality of data TBs, if the UE is configured for reception of the downlink data channels from two cells, a number of the TTIs is three or four, and a number of the data TBs is greater than a number of the acknowledgement bits; generating acknowledgement information respectively representing a reception result for each data TB by a corresponding acknowledgement bit, if the UE is configured for reception of the downlink data channels from a single cell or two cells, and a number of the TTIs is one or two; encoding the acknowledgement bits; multiplexing the encoded acknowledgement bits with uplink data; and transmitting the multiplexed acknowledgement bits and the uplink data on an uplink data channel.

    Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for transmitting and receiving at least one Downlink Control Information (DCI) in a communication system supporting Carrier Aggregation (CA) are provided. The method for receiving includes receiving information representative of presence of carrier indicator by higher layer signaling from a Node B; receiving information representative of at least one cell indicator by higher layer signaling from the Node B; defining an UE specific search space based on aggregation level, an UE ID, and at least one carrier indicator value, where the UE specific search space includes a set of Physical Downlink Control CHannel (PDCCH) candidates based on the aggregation level; decoding at least one PDCCH including at least one DCI respectively by the UE ID; and acquiring the at least one DCI, wherein the at least one carrier indicator value is based on the at least one cell indicator.

    Abstract: A method for receiving an acknowledgement signal by a base station in a wireless communication system and a base station are provided. The method includes transmitting information associated with transmission of a periodic channel quality indication (CQI) signal in an operating bandwidth; receiving a dynamic acknowledgement signal by using a first frequency resource in response to transmission of a downlink data signal, wherein a resource block (RB) allocated for the dynamic acknowledgement signal is determined based on the transmitted information; and receiving a periodic acknowledgement signal by using a second frequency resource in response to transmission of a downlink data signal, wherein the second frequency resource is allocated between the first frequency resource and a third frequency resource allocated for the periodic CQI signal.
