Abstract: A Plasma Display Panel (PDP) which enables low-voltage address discharge, enhances maintenance of an address voltage and prevents an abnormal discharge in the outside of a display available area, includes: a front substrate; a rear substrate disposed parallel to the front substrate; a plurality of barrier ribs interposed between the front substrate and the rear substrate to define discharge cells together with the front and rear substrates; a plurality of electrodes enclosing each of the discharge cells; a fluorescent layer arranged in each of the discharge cells; and a discharge gas in the discharge cells. A portion of an outermost barrier rib defining an outside edge of an outermost discharge cell is thicker than a remaining portion of the outermost barrier rib.

Abstract: Provided herein is a plasma display panel. The plasma display panel comprises a front substrate, a rear substrate opposite to the front substrate and having address electrodes formed thereon, a lattice-shaped partition wall formed between the front substrate and the rear substrate, a phosphor applied to a discharge space partitioned by the partition wall, and a plurality of scanning electrodes and common electrodes formed in intersection regions of the partition wall and extending perpendicular to the front substrate. The plasma display panel has a sufficient aperture ratio, and thus has enhanced light emitting efficiency. The scanning electrodes and the common electrodes formed in the intersection regions of the partition walls have a vertical construction, thereby effectively preventing the phosphor from being damaged by the plasma. Discharge uniformly occurs at the outer periphery of the discharge cell, thereby inducing effective excitation of the phosphor.

Abstract: A plasma display panel adapted to reduce a discharge firing voltage and reset and address periods, thereby enhancing luminescence efficiency. The plasma display panel include first and second substrates facing each other with a predetermined gap in between. The gap is divided into a plurality of discharge cells where phosphor layers are formed. First and second electrodes alternately extend in a first direction between the substrates and further extend in a third direction from the first toward the second substrate. First and second address electrodes are located between the substrates and extend in a second direction intersecting the first direction. The address electrodes correspond to boundaries of the discharge cells located adjacent in the first direction and have protruding portions alternately protruding inside their respective discharge cells.

Abstract: A plasma display panel is provided in which a sustain discharge is induced in response to an opposed discharge generated between a pair of electrodes, thereby reducing a discharge firing voltage and improving efficiency. Abstract: One embodiment of the invention provides a plasma display panel (PDP), which has a remarkably high transmittance of visible light and thus, high brightness, in which a stable and efficient discharge can be achieved at a low voltage driving, thereby allowing for low production costs, and which has an extended lifetime since a reduced number of ions collide with fluorescent materials by preventing ion sputtering.
