    摘要: A method for driving a plasma display panel. A discharge occurs at a selected discharge cell by scan and address pulses to form wall charges in an address period. A setup pulse is applied to a scan electrode in a sustain period. A discharge occurs between sustain and scan electrodes by a wall voltage of the sustain and scan electrodes and a voltage of the setup pulse when the setup pulse is applied. A self discharge occurs between the sustain and scan electrodes when the setup pulse falls, to form space charges. A sustain pulse is applied to the sustain and scan electrodes, and a sustain occurs by the space charges and the sustain pulse.

Phosphor layers are respectively formed in the discharge cells. Address electrodes are formed along a first direction on the first substrate, and first and second electrodes are formed adjacent to the first substrate and separated from the address electrodes. The first and second electrodes extend along a second direction that intersects the first direction, and the first and second electrodes are provided corresponding to each of the discharge cells. The first and second electrodes are formed extended in a direction away from the first substrate and toward the second substrate, and opposing each other with a spacing provided therebetween. The first and second electrodes include protrusions that extend toward centers of the discharge cells.

    摘要: The invention provides a plasma display panel having improved luminous efficiency. The improved luminous efficiency may result in part from at least the configuration and/or arrangement of facing sustain and scan electrodes. In one embodiment, the electrodes may have concave portions that are selectively formed at locators where the electrodes intersect barrier ribs that separate adjacent discharge cells of different colors. This configuration may reduce the charge distribution around the portions where the concave are formed, and may also prevent erroneous discharge from being transferred to adjacent discharge cells. The principles of the invention may be used to produce or light density PDP that increases luminous efficiency and decreases a discharge firing voltage.

    摘要: A convergence system for a cathode-ray tube having three detection magnetic pole pieces are disposed opposing to each other on both sides of a center beam for forming magnetic paths inside the neck part of a cathode-ray tube. A first convergence yoke is disposed outside the neck part of the cathode-ray tube for forming magnetic paths together with the magnetic pole pieces. A first coil is wound on a first convergence yoke to generate a magnetic field for correcting horizontal misconvergence between the center beam and a side beam on a side of the center beam. A second coil is wound on the first convergence yoke to generate a magnetic field for correcting horizontal misconvergence between the center beam and a side beam on the other side of the center beam. A third coil is wound on the first convergence yoke to generate a magnetic field for correcting vertical misconvergence between the center beam and both side beams. Furthermore, a second convergence yoke is disposed on the neck part of the cathode-ray tube at a different position from the first convergence yoke. A fourth coil is wound on the second convergence yoke to generate a magnetic field for correcting vertical misconvergence between both side beams.
