Abstract: Systems and methods presented herein provide for increasing a contention window of a UE employing a LTE communications operating in a radio frequency (RF) band comprising a conflicting wireless technology. In one embodiment, an eNodeB receives a transport block of data from a user equipment (UE). The transport block includes a cyclic redundancy check (CRC). The eNodeB then determines a checksum of the transport block based on the CRC, fails the checksum, and transmits a non-acknowledgement (NACK) of the transport block to the UE based on the failed checksum. The UE, in response to the NACK, increases a contention window and re-transmits the transport block to the eNodeB.

Abstract: A method for mitigating delay in availability of data in a communication network includes predicting an amount of data to egress a first communication device; modifying the predicted amount of data to egress the first communication device according to a data delay profile, to generate a first signal representing anticipated upcoming data transmission by the first communication device, where the data delay profile represents delay in availability of data at the first communication device; transmitting the first signal from the first communication device to the second communication device; generating one or more Grants at the second communication device at least partially in accordance with the first signal, each Grant authorizing the first communication device to transfer data via the network; and transmitting the one or more Grants from the second communication device to the first communication device.

Abstract: A multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) capable system is contemplated. The communication system may include a signal processor configured to separate an input stream into multiple signal paths to facilitate simultaneous transport through a communication medium. The capability to simultaneously transmit multiples signal paths may be beneficial in order to maximize throughput and/or minimize expense.

Abstract: A method for detecting aggressive signal transmission signatures in a wireless communication network is provided. The network includes at least one cooperative device, an access point, and at least one non-cooperative device. The method includes steps of generating a matrix of at least 8 bits configured to register each instance of at least one of a clear-to-send frame and a request-to-send frame transmitted between the at least one cooperative device and the access point during a specified duration, calculating a cumulative distribution function based on the registered instances within the generated matrix for a probability of the presence of an aggressive transmission signal by the at least one non-cooperative device within a measurable vicinity of one or more of the cooperative device and the access point, and determining the presence of the aggressive transmission signal based on the calculated cumulative distribution function being greater than a predetermined threshold.

Abstract: A wireless communication node includes a receiving portion configured to detect, over a wireless communication channel, a request to send (RTS) message from a transmitting station within a communication vicinity of the wireless communication node. The RTS message includes at least one duration field. The wireless communication node further includes a processor configured to (i) calculate an estimated time parameter, (ii) add the estimated time parameter to a current timestamp of the wireless communication node, and (iii) form a control packet from the RTS message, the at least one duration field, and the estimated time parameter. The wireless communication node further includes a transmitting portion configured to transmit over the wireless communication channel (i) a clear to send (CTS) message the transmitting station, and (ii) the control packet to a modem in operable communication with the wireless communication channel.

Abstract: Network prioritization is contemplated. The network prioritization may relate to prioritizing consumption of network services as a function of user priority. The user priority may be associated with the devices desiring consumption of network services in order to ensure higher priority users are granted network resources over lower priority users.

Abstract: A method for detecting aggressive signal transmission signatures in a wireless communication network is provided. The network includes at least one station, at least one access point, and at least one non-cooperative transmission source. The method includes steps of generating a matrix of each instance of request-to-send (RTS) messages received by the access point during a specified observation cycle, recording, in a memory of the access point, a number of cumulative RTS messages received from the station, calculating a cumulative distribution function (CDF), based on the recorded RTS message instances in the memory, for a probability of the presence of an aggressive transmission signal by the non-cooperative transmission source within a transmission range of the access point, and determining the presence of the aggressive transmission signal based on the calculated CDF being greater than a predetermined threshold.
