摘要: An ad-hoc wireless network is implemented by a plurality of wireless access points to detect and report failure of a concurrently implemented conventional network. The wireless access points collect and store network status information of the conventional network and send the network status information to a centralized emergency manager when failure of the conventional network is detected. The ad-hoc wireless network may also provide backhaul connectivity to a wireless access point of the failed conventional network for emergency communication.

摘要: Methods, systems, and devices for network communications to reduce optical beat interference (OBI) in upstream communications are described. For example, a fiber node may provide a seed source to injection lock upstream laser diodes. Therefore, upstream communications from each injection locked laser diode may primarily include the wavelength associated with each seed source. The seed sources may be unique to each end device and configured to minimize OBI. That is, the upstream laser diodes may be generic, but the collected seed source may enable upstream communications at varying wavelengths. The end device may provide upstream communications by externally modulating a signal generated by the injection locked laser diode.

摘要: A first node of a network includes a quantum receiver, a classical transceiver, and an initial-key generator that cooperate with a second node of the network to receive an initial key via the quantum receiver. The first node includes a key-series generator that (i) decrypts, with the initial key, a first encrypted key of a series of encrypted keys to generate a first unencrypted key of a respective series of unencrypted keys and (ii) decrypts each subsequent encrypted key of the series of encrypted keys with a preceding unencrypted key of the series of unencrypted keys to generate a subsequent unencrypted key of the series of unencrypted keys. The first node includes one or both of a decryptor and an encryptor. The decryptor decrypts encrypted data using a last unencrypted key of the series of unencrypted keys. The encryptor encrypts unencrypted data using the last unencrypted key.

摘要: A radio access network (RAN) node is provided for a small cell of a wireless access network having a coaxial line. The RAN node includes an input operably coupled with the coaxial line and an output configured to wirelessly communicate with at least one user equipment device within an operable vicinity of the wireless access network. The RAN node further includes a transmission path configured to (i) connect the input to the output, and (ii) communicate a first radio frequency (RF) signal from the input to the output, and a reception path separate from the transmission path, and configured to (i) connect the output to the input, and (ii) communicate a second radio frequency (RF) signal from the output to the input. The RAN node is configured to dynamically switch between the transmission path and the reception path in response to a tone received from the wireless access network.

The polarization multiplexed carrier includes a first polarization and a second polarization. The receiver includes a first lane for transporting a first input signal of the first polarization, a second lane for transporting a second input signal of the second polarization, a dynamic phase noise estimation unit disposed within the first lane and configured to determine a phase noise estimate of the first input signal, a first carrier phase recovery portion configured to remove carrier phase noise from the first polarization based on a combination of the first input signal and a function of the determined phase noise estimate, and a second carrier phase recovery portion configured to remove carrier phase noise from the second polarization based on a combination of the second input signal and the function of the determined phase noise estimate.

摘要: A beam steering subsystem is provided in an optical communication system. The beam steering subsystem is configured for steering a free-space optical (FSO) beam from a first transceiver to a second transceiver disposed remotely from the first receiver. The beam steering subsystem includes a beam steering device disposed between the first transceiver and the second transceiver, and an optical tracking unit in optical communication and electrical communication with the beam steering device. The wherein the beam steering device is further configured to (i) receive the FSO beam from the first transceiver, (ii) receive an optical tracking signal from the second transceiver, (iii) optically relay the received optical tracking signal to the optical tracking unit, and (iv) steer the FSO beam to the second transceiver based on an electrical feedback control signal from optical tracking unit.

摘要: An analog signal processor includes a sampling unit configured to (i) filter, in the frequency domain, a received time domain analog signal into a low-frequency end of a corresponding frequency spectrum, (ii) sample the filtered analog signal at a frequency substantially higher than the low-frequency end, and (iii) spread quantization noise over an expanded Nyquist zone of the corresponding frequency spectrum. The processor further includes a noise shaping unit configured to shape the spread quantization noise out of the low-frequency end of the corresponding frequency spectrum such that the filtered analog signal and the shaped quantization noise are substantially separated in the frequency domain, and a quantization unit configured to apply delta-sigma modulation to the filtered analog signal using at least one quantization bit, and output a digitized bit stream that substantially follows the amplitude of the received time domain analog signal.
