The method of transmitting a broadcast signal according to the present invention provides a system capable of supporting future broadcast services in environments supporting next-generation hybrid broadcast using terrestrial broadcast networks and the Internet. In addition, efficient signaling methods capable of covering both terrestrial broadcast networks and the Internet in environments supporting future hybrid broadcast are provided.

The method includes generating service components of a broadcast service; generating first signaling data and second signaling data, the first signaling data for locating the second signaling data, the second signaling data signaling the broadcast service; processing the service components and the second signaling data into transport packets, wherein the first signaling data includes destination Internet Protocol (IP) address information, a destination port number, and source IP address information through which the second signaling data is delivered; and transmitting the broadcast signal including the first signaling data and the transport packets.

According to an embodiment of the present invention, a method for receiving urgent alarm contents through a broadcast system includes the steps of: receiving a broadcast signal; parsing an urgent alarm table contained in the broadcast signal, the urgent alarm table containing an urgent alarm message and an urgent alarm contents transmission structure descriptor for signaling the information of the urgent alarm contents concerning the urgent alarm message, and the urgent alarm contents transmission structure descriptor containing the IP address of an IP datagram for transmitting the urgent alarm contents; receiving the IP datagram of the IP address; and decoding the IP datagram so as to reproduce the urgent alarm contents.
