Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described in which UEs may communicate with satellites or base stations, or both in a non-terrestrial network. Due to large distances between transmitting devices and receiving devices in a non-terrestrial network, the UE may account for propagation delay and frequency shift of communications with a satellite based on location information of the satellite. The UE may receive first satellite location information from a base station or a satellite, via a broadcast message. The UE may receive second satellite location information from the wireless network node via a unicast message, where both the first satellite location information and the second satellite location information relate to a same satellite. The UE may transmit an uplink communication via the satellite based on at least one of the first satellite location information or the second satellite location information.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, a base station may indicate in system information, or a user equipment (UE) may determine based on system information, which reference signal resources may be used for channel estimation for a given broadcast control channel. In some examples, a base station may configure and transmit reference signals having the same numerology as a broadcast control channel according to a first reference signal pattern during the same subframe in which the broadcast control channel is configured. The first reference signal pattern may be more dense than a second reference signal pattern used for reference signals having a different numerology than the broadcast control channel. The more dense first reference signal pattern may provide sufficient reference signals for successful single-symbol channel estimation, resulting in a successful decoding of the broadcast control channel.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Some wireless communications systems may support non-terrestrial network (NTN) signaling between both terrestrial and non-terrestrial devices. A user equipment (UE) supporting such NTN signaling may receive a downlink message indicating a first configuration for a first transmission reception point corresponding to a first cell of the NTN, and a second configuration for a second transmission reception point corresponding to a second cell of the NTN. The UE may then perform one or more synchronization measurements to synchronize uplink communications with the first transmission reception point and the second transmission reception point and in order to perform multi-transmission reception point communications in the NTN. The UE may then transmit one or more uplink messages to the first transmission reception point, to the second transmission reception point, or both, in accordance with the one or more synchronization measurements.

The UE may also receive second control signaling indicating a second RNTI and a second feedback process identifier, where the second RNTI indicates scheduling of a multicast downlink transmission. The UE may manage a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARM) process at the UE associated with the unicast downlink transmission and the multicast downlink transmission based on the first RNTI, the first feedback process identifier, the second RNTI, and the second feedback process identifier. Generally, the described techniques provide for establishing rules for scheduling downlink data transmissions and flow control feedback for the downlink data transmissions to avoid confusion at a base station and a user equipment (UE). In one example, when flow control feedback from a UE is disabled for a downlink data transmission, the UE may still operate according to a timing for reporting flow control feedback for the downlink data transmission. In this example, the UE may drop (e.g., refrain from decoding) other downlink data transmissions based on the timing for reporting flow control feedback. In another example, when flow control feedback from a UE is disabled for a downlink data transmission, other downlink data transmissions to the UE may be scheduled according to one or more rules to avoid confusion.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some networks, a user equipment (UE) may switch between serving beams of a transmitting device that are associated with different bandwidth parts of a radio frequency spectrum. To improve aspects of beam measurement and selection, a UE may be configured to support various techniques for beam measurement according to the different bandwidth parts. For example, a UE may receive a beam measurement configuration associated with one or more beams, and may monitor for reference signals associated with the beams using the different bandwidth parts. The UE may determine a channel quality of one or more of the beams based on the monitoring, and transmit a beam measurement report to the network in accordance with the beam measurement configuration. In some examples, such a report may be transmitted based on the UE determining that an event condition is satisfied.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) selects or reselects a target cell of a non-terrestrial network or resumes connectivity with the target cell after a satellite handover for a permanently fixed low Earth orbit (LEO) cell. The target cell is a serving or non-serving cell. The UE determines a cell type of the target cell. The cell type may be a LEO cell type, a geostationary Earth orbit (GEO) cell type, a moving cell type, a fixed cell type, a temporarily fixed LEO cell type, or a permanently fixed LEO cell type. The UE completes selection or reselection of the target cell or completes the connectivity with the target cell, based on the cell type.
