    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may be configured with a mapping between downlink control information (DCI) codepoint values, multicast configurations, and unicast configurations. A DCI may then signal to the UE to apply one of a multicast configuration or a unicast configuration to receive a shared data channel transmission. For example, for a given DCI field of a group-common downlink control channel for multicast data, one or some DCI codepoint values may be associated with values configured for a multicast configuration, while remaining codepoints are associated with values configured for a unicast configuration. In some implementations, the UE may identify which multicast configuration or unicast configuration to apply based on the mapping, a type of data transmission scheduled by the DCI, specified values for the DCI codepoint values, whether the shared data channel transmission is a retransmission, or a combination thereof.

    Abstract: In methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications, a user equipment (UE) may receive a downlink control information (DCI) block including DCI for a set of transport blocks scheduled for the UE, the DCI including a set of fields. The UE may decode the DCI block to obtain the DCI for the set of transport blocks, where at least two fields of the downlink control information are jointly decoded according to an encoding scheme, and where each possible output of the encoding scheme corresponds to a jointly valid combination of the at least two fields. The UE may receive the set of transport blocks from a base station based on the DCI.

    Abstract: In embodiments of systems and methods for managing control signaling for multicast communications, a base station may transmit to a wireless device an indication of whether to monitor a group common physical downlink control channel (GC PDCCH), a wireless device-specific PDCCH for multicast configuration information, or both. The base station may determine a schedule for transmitting multicast communications to the wireless device based on a capability reported by the wireless device, and may transmit to the wireless device an indication of whether a transport block for GC multicast communications including services for multicast communications will be scheduled by the GC PDCCH, the wireless device-specific PDCCH, or both. The base station may transmit, and the wireless device may receive, the multicast communications according to the multicast configuration information and the schedule.

    Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may determine, for an orthogonal frequency division (OFDM) symbol that includes one or more cell-specific reference signal (CRS) resource elements and one or more narrowband physical downlink shared channel (NPDSCH) resource elements, an NPDSCH energy per resource element (EPRE), wherein the NPDSCH EPRE for the OFDM symbol is based at least in part on an EPRE differential between a narrowband reference signal (NRS) EPRE and a CRS EPRE. The UE may demodulate the OFDM symbol based at least in part on the NPDSCH EPRE. Numerous other aspects are provided.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may configure an outer coded block which a user equipment (UE) may implement to recover an unsuccessfully decoded transmission. The base station may send, to the UE, downlink control information (DCI) indicating an outer coding scheme for the group of data blocks (e.g., a first data block and a second data block). The UE may monitor for the data blocks and the outer coded block. The UE may decode the data blocks based on the outer coded block and the outer coding scheme. In some examples, the outer code block may be made up of a combination of the first and second data blocks. The UE may use the combination of the outer coded block and one of the data blocks to decode an unsuccessfully decode data block.

A user equipment (UE) may receive signaling indicating a group of transmission configuration indicator states including a first subset associated with a first bandwidth part and a second subset associated with a common frequency resource. The UE may determine, based on the group of transmission configuration indicator states, a transmission configuration indicator state list arrangement indicating a first state list associated with the first bandwidth part and a second state list associated with the common frequency resource. The UE may select, based on the transmission configuration indicator state list arrangement, a transmission configuration indicator state sharing scheme or a transmission configuration indicator state separation scheme. The sharing scheme may include at least one transmission configuration indicator state that may be common between a unicast transmission configuration and a multicast transmission configuration.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, control signaling that indicates one or more parameters pertaining to reception of paging early indications (PEIs). The UE may receive a PEI from the base station in accordance with the one or more parameters. The UE may determine, based on the PEI, whether the UE is scheduled to receive a multicast paging message from the base station in a subsequent paging occasion (PO). If the UE is scheduled to receive a multicast paging message, the UE may monitor for the multicast paging message in the subsequent PO. Otherwise, the UE may enter a low-power state during the subsequent PO, which may result in greater power savings at the UE. Aspects of the present disclosure may provide for improved multicast paging operations between the UE and the base station.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In one example, a user equipment (UE) may be configured to receive a control message scheduling a multicast transmission, and the UE may identify an open loop power control parameter for transmitting acknowledgment feedback responsive to the multicast transmission. The identification of the open loop power control parameter may be based on the transmission being multicast to a plurality of UEs, and in some cases a UE may identify an open loop power control parameter that is different than an open loop power control parameter associated with feedback responsive to unicast transmissions. In various examples, open loop power control parameters may correspond to respective feedback resources (e.g., according to a configuration for a set of open loop power control parameters), or to respective physical resource indicators (e.g., as signaled in downlink control information).
