Abstract: Aspects presented herein may enable a receiving device to receive high frequency signals with a simpler receiver to reduce the overall complexity and cost associated with the receiver. In one aspect, an apparatus receives a reference signal from a second wireless device. The apparatus measures amplitude and phase of the reference signal relative to a set point. The apparatus transmits channel flattening information in a precoding feedback to the second wireless device, the precoding feedback including at least a difference between the amplitude of the reference signal and the set point for a sub-band.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for reconfiguring a resource envelope allocated to a distributed unit (DU) or a radio unit (RU) based on power consumption at the DU or the RU. A virtual radio access network (VRAN) manager (e.g., a host platform for a VRAN) may perform baseband pooling to allocate a resource envelope to a DU or an RU. After an initial allocation of a resource envelope to a DU or an RU, the DU, the RU, or both may report an amount of power consumed during signal processing for one or more dimensions of the resource envelope. The VRAN manager may then reconfigure a resource envelope for the DU or the RU based on the power consumption at these devices (e.g., to minimize operating expenses (OPEX) or maximize utilization of the resource envelope).

A first wireless device may identify a set of data resource elements for transmitting data in one or more symbols periods. The first wireless device may generate, for the one or more symbol periods based on the set of data resource elements, a sequence of a set of pilot resource elements associated with the set of data resource elements, the sequence of the set of pilot resource elements including a phase tracking reference signal. The first wireless device may transmit, to a second wireless device in the one or more symbol periods, the set of data resource elements and the set of pilot resource elements. The second wireless device may decode a first subset of the set of pilot resource elements based on a second subset of the set of pilot resource elements to determine the phase tracking reference signal.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a message from a network entity indicating a first set of configuration parameters for tracking reference signals (TRSs) specific to the UE. The UE may monitor for one or more TRSs according to the first set of configuration parameters and during a first time interval. The UE may receive a layer-1 (L1) signal or a layer-2 (L2) signal from the network entity indicating a second set of configuration parameters for the TRSs specific to the UE that are different from the first set of configuration parameters. The UE may transmit an acknowledgement message to the network entity indicating the UE received the L1 signal or the L2 signal. During a second time interval subsequent to the first time interval, the UE may monitor for additional TRSs according to the second set of configuration parameters.
