Abstract:
An elevator apparatus is provided with an elevator path having a restricted height. Under a roping ratio of 1:1, a thin driving unit having a traction sheave 1 and a driving mechanism 2 is positioned between an inner wall 3a of the elevator path 3 and a space occupied by an elevator car 4 rising and falling in the elevator path 3. One end of a suspension rope 7 is fixed to the elevator car 4 in a position below a ceiling 4c of the elevator car 4. With the arrangement, the car 4 can move close to the ceiling 4c of the elevator car 4 effectively. Further, it is possible to reduce respective heights of the elevator path 3 and a building equipped with the elevator apparatus.
Abstract:
In an elevator, a driving unit is installed at the top of an elevator shaft above a counterweight. Traction sheaves engage with ropes and are rotated by the driving device. These traction sheaves are positioned close to wall surfaces of the elevator shaft, that are adjacent to its wall surface facing the counterweight. The traction sheaves are also positioned outside the horizontally projected plane of a car.

Abstract:
A computer graphics apparatus includes a walk-through function to simulate with a computer the concept of walking through a structure such as a building. Display processing time and calculation processing time for one frame of a computer graphic image are improved by an input unit which receives a viewline moving instruction to move a viewline of a computer image. A viewline control unit determines positions and directions of the viewline while a storage unit stores computer graphics data including three-dimensional data of objects, walk-through attribute data and viewline data. An image generation unit then generates images including animated images based on the position of the viewline and the computer graphics data. The resultant images are then displayed on an image display unit.
Abstract:
A hybridoma capable of producing monoclonal antibody for recognizing hCG-.beta. core region and hCG-.beta. subunit, which is obtained by cell fusion of an antibody producing cell of a mammal immunized with hCG-.beta. subunit and a lymphoid cell line, and the monoclonal antibody are disclosed. The monoclonal antibody can be used in an immunochemical determination method useful for diagnosis of cancers.
Abstract:
A facsimile apparatus comprises a memory for storing communication mode information, a setting unit for setting a communication mode, and a data transmitting unit for transmitting image data in accordance with the set communication mode. The setting unit checks in response to an input transmission start instruction whether a destination facsimile apparatus is a new receiving side. If the destination facsimile apparatus is determined to be a new receiving side, the setting unit receives the communication mode information from the destination facsimile apparatus and stores the received communication mode information in the memory. If the destination facsimile apparatus is determined not to be a new receiving side, the setting unit reads out the communication mode information from the memory and transmits the readout communication mode information to the destination facsimile apparatus. The setting unit receives changed communication mode information transmitted from the destination facsimile apparatus in response to transmission of the readout communication mode information and stores the changed communication mode information in the memory. The communication mode is set in accordance with one of the changed communication mode information, the readout communication mode information, and the received communication mode information.
Abstract:
A semiconductor integrated circuit includes a semiconductor chip having a plurality of pad electrodes fixed in a lead frame. Electrical leads connected to the chip include outer lead portions, external to the lead frame, and inner lead portions, internal to the lead frame and electrically connected to the semiconductor chip. At least one lead is a dummy lead, providing additional space in the lead frame. Due to the extra space, the inner lead portions may have various shapes, including large leads, or branched leads, for elimination power noise.
Abstract:
A semiconductor device has a first semiconductor region of a first conductivity type; a second semiconductor region of a second conductivity type; an interconnection layer, containing an impurity of a second conductivity type, for connecting the first and second semiconductor regions; and a third semiconductor region of the second conductivity type which is formed in the first semiconductor region upon diffusion of the impurity from the interconnection layer to the first semiconductor region, the first and third semiconductor regions being adapted to form a p-n junction diode.
