Abstract: This disclosure describes systems, methods, and devices related to spatial reuse using quasi-omni and directional clear channel assessment (CCA). A device may use multiple antenna elements in an antenna array to perform both a quasi-omni CCA and a directional CCA during the same time slot. Some embodiments may use different antenna weight vectors to switch the antenna array between quasi-omni and directional CCA. Other embodiments may dedicate some elements of the array to quasi-omni CCA and other elements of the array to directional CCA. The device may use the combination of quasi-omni CCA and directional CCA to determine whether a channel is free for transmitting.

In one embodiment, this disclosure describes an extension of the Golay sequences Ga and Gb defined in various legacy standards to GSSs. In various embodiments, the disclosed GSSs can include a number of Golay complementary pairs (e.g., Ga and Gb). In one embodiment, the disclosed Golay complementary pairs can meet various predetermined design rules and can be used to define enhanced directional multi-gigabit (EDMG) short training field (STF) and/or channel estimation field (CEF) fields for multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) transmission.

Abstract: Wireless communication networks may use various techniques, including those that use multiple-access techniques such as multi-user multiple-input multiple-output (MU-MIMO) techniques. In some embodiments, the use of a MU-MIMO setup frame may give a destination STA a chance to select a best antenna weight vector (AWV) based on previous antenna training. In particular, the use of an AWVgroupID may be used to identify a group of one or more STAs that can be the destination STAs of the MU-MIMO setup frame.
