    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for adjusting communication timings of beams (e.g., of beam pair links) within a beam timing advance group (TAG). In some cases, a base station may determine that transmission timing at a UE may be misaligned between multiple beams. The base station may configure a set of beams into a beam TAG, and may send a timing advance (TA) command for the beam TAG. A common timing reference value may be identified based on the TA command. UEs performing uplink transmissions may determine a TA value for the beam TAG based on the common timing reference value, and may adjust a communication timing for one or more of the beams within the beam TAG based at least in part on the common timing reference value and the timing advance value.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide for transmission of random access preambles from a UE based at least in part on a synchronization signal block (SSB) that is received from a base station. A random access response may be transmitted from the base station based at least in part on a random access resource that is used for the random access preamble, an SSB associated with the random access resource, an SSB index, or combinations thereof. In some cases, two or more SSBs may be mapped to a single random access resource, and a single random access radio network temporary identifier (RA-RNTI), or two or more RA-RNTIs, may be used for each of the two or more SSBs. In some cases, a single random access response message contains information for each UE that transmits a random access preamble in the single random access resource.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. In some wireless systems, a base station may configure a user equipment (UE) for random access (RACH) message transmission in dedicated RACH resources during, for example, a handover process. The contention-free random access (CFRA) resources may allow the UE to transmit RACH messages at a higher transmission power than contention-based random access (CBRA) resources. The base station may indicate, to the UE, RACH transmission parameters for CFRA that are different than parameters for CBRA. These parameters may include configuration information, frequency division multiplexing information, RACH retransmission parameters, target received power, response window length, etc. The UE may use the indicated RACH transmission parameters to transmit a RACH message to the base station. The base station may respond with a RACH response message, and the base station and UE may synchronize upon completion of the RACH procedure.

    Abstract: User equipment (UE)-specific information may be transmitted within a control resource set configured to carry resources common to UEs within a system. The UE-specific information may be associated with a search space having an aggregation level different from aggregation levels used with the common control resources and may occupy different modulation symbols within the common control resource set (e.g., to support flexible scheduling for multiple UEs). A base station and UE may operate in a system using one or more control resource sets within a system bandwidth. The UE may detect common control resources by monitoring decoding candidates in the control resource set according to a first set of aggregation levels. The UE may detect UE-specific control resources by monitoring decoding candidates in the control resource set according to other aggregation levels. The UE and base station may communicate based on control information obtained from the monitoring.

    Abstract: A method, an apparatus, and a computer-readable medium for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus may be a base station. The apparatus may transmit a message to a user equipment (UE). The message may indicate a first dedicated resource for downlink transmission, and the first dedicated resource may be associated with a scheduled downlink transmission from the apparatus. The apparatus may receive an information message from the UE on a second dedicated resource for uplink transmission based on the first dedicated resource for downlink transmission indicated in the message. The information message may be used for transmitting the scheduled downlink channel transmission that was scheduled before the information message was received. The apparatus may transmit the scheduled downlink transmission after receiving the information message from the UE. The scheduled downlink transmission may be based on the received information message.
