Abstract:
In one embodiment, a system for conducting a conference session among a group of participants includes a server for establishing communication channels over a network connected with endpoint devices of the participants. The server operates to allocate initial resources on the network to conduct the conference session, the initial resources including the communication channels and at least one conferencing bridge. Code running on the server selects one or more different resources currently available during the conference session. The one or more different resources is selected to optimize a quality of service (QoS) criteria. Execution of the code causes the server to move the conference session to the one or more different resources responsive to a triggering event. It is emphasized that this abstract is provided to comply with the rules requiring an abstract that will allow a searcher or other reader to quickly ascertain the subject matter of the technical disclosure.
Abstract:
An implantable cardioverter defibrillator evaluates the hemodynamic stability of an arrhythmia to determine whether or not to defibrillate. The device obtains cardiac pressure and cardiac impedance data and evaluates a phase relationship between these parameters. Hemodynamically stable rhythms will result in an out of phase relationship.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for allocating call resources during a conference call are disclosed. A conference call between a plurality of clients is conducted on a first conference call. The clients communicate media streams to the first conference call for mixing. A media gateway identifies a second call resource to conduct the conference call and mix the media streams, and transfers the conference call from the first call resource to the second call resource without suspending a plurality of mixed media streams received by the clients.
Abstract:
In one embodiment, a Media Analysis and Delivery System obtains a set of media delivery rules, wherein the set of media delivery rules includes one or more triggers, each of the triggers identifying a topic of interest. The Media Analysis and Delivery System examines a media stream for at least one of the one or more triggers in accordance with the set of media delivery rules. The Media Analysis and Delivery System provides at least a portion of the media stream in response to at least one of the triggers in accordance with at least one of the set of media delivery rules.
Abstract:
In one embodiment, a system includes a video multipoint control unit (MCU) and an audio conferencing bridge, the audio conferencing bridge being operable to receive audio streams from audio-only and video endpoints, and to negotiate video sessions between each of the video endpoints and the video MCU. In response to detecting when one of the video endpoints is an active speaker, the audio conferencing bridge transmitting a dummy audio stream over a dummy audio channel from the audio conferencing bridge to the video MCU. The dummy audio stream causes the video MCU to switch an image in a video output stream. It is emphasized that this abstract is provided to comply with the rules requiring an abstract that will allow a searcher or other reader to quickly ascertain the subject matter of the technical disclosure.
Abstract:
In one embodiment, a method includes determining when a relay arrangement is available to pair with an endpoint. The relay arrangement is arranged to wirelessly communicate with the endpoint and to communicate over a wired network. The method also includes authenticating the endpoint with respect to the relay arrangement when the relay arrangement is available to pair with the endpoint, and pairing the endpoint with the relay arrangement if the endpoint is authenticated with respect to the relay arrangement. Pairing the endpoint with the relay arrangement includes the endpoint and the relay arrangement engaging in wireless communications, as well as the relay arrangement engaging in wired communications over the wired network.
Abstract:
An implantable medical device (IMD) senses physiological episodes and stores data associated with the physiological episodes in the IMD. The data is then processed based on a pattern of recurrence of the physiological episodes.
Abstract:
A conference adapter. In an illustrative embodiment, the conference adapter implements a method for interfacing one or more conference endpoints with one or more conference servers. The method includes registering an endpoint and a conference server to determine endpoint registration information associated with the endpoint and to determine conference-server registration information associated with the conference server. Next, the method includes receiving a connection from the endpoint and a connection from the conference server. Subsequently, the conference adapter establishes communications between the endpoint and the conference server as initiated by the endpoint and based on the endpoint registration information and the conference-server registration information. In a more specific embodiment, the method further includes receiving plural connections from conference servers of disparate types, and then selectively switching communications between the endpoint and a first conference server to communications between the endpoint and a second conference server. The method further includes selectively switching endpoints for a given conference session.
Abstract:
A method for handling calls at an automatic call distributor includes receiving from a first caller a first call for distribution to one of a plurality of agents and receiving from the first caller a first request associated with the first call. The method includes linking the first request to one or more additional requests associated with one or more additional calls from one or more additional callers. The method also includes distributing for handling to a first agent of the plurality of agents the first call and the one or more additional calls associated with the one or more additional requests linked to the first request.
Abstract:
A method for recording automatic call distributor calls includes receiving from a caller a call for distribution to one of a plurality of agents and distributing the call to a first agent of the plurality of agents for handling. The method includes creating a call signature associated with the call for recording verification and recording communications of the call to a recording file. The method also includes embedding the call signature in the recording file.
