Abstract: The disclosure describes mechanisms for reliability enhancement on control channel and data channel and mechanisms in URLLC. An apparatus of a RAN node for URLLC includes baseband circuitry to configure at least one DCI for scheduling transmission of at least one PDSCH content having same information. For each DCI, the baseband circuitry determines a CORESET for transmitting the DCI. The disclosure further describes mechanisms for the support of low latency transmission in URLLC. To improve peak data rate and spectrum efficiency in FDD system, the RAN node configures a DCI for scheduling data transmission using blank resources of a self-contained slot structure. Further, CBG-based transmission with separate HARQ-ACK feedback is provided to configure a DCI for scheduling data transmission of a TB and to divide the TB into multiple CBGs, and to configure uplink control data to carry separate HARQ feedback for the CBGs.

Abstract: Described is an apparatus of an Evolved Node-B (eNB). The apparatus comprises a first circuitry, a second circuitry, and a third circuitry. Abstract: Devices and methods of using xSS are generally disclosed. A UE receives an xPSS with (Nrep) symbols each with a subcarrier spacing of K×a PSS subcarrier spacing and a duration of a PSS symbol/K. PSD subcarriers surround the xPSS and the ZC sequence is punctured to avoid transmission on a DC subcarrier. Guard subcarriers separate the xPSS and PSD when the ZC sequence is less than the occupied BW of the xPSS and at least one element in the ZC sequence is punctured for xPSS symbol generation otherwise. One or more xSSSs and xS-SCHs may follow the xPSS. The xSS may be omnidirectional, each having a same xPSS and different xSSS or xS-SCH or a different xPSS and same xSSS or xS-SCH or beamformed, each having different xPSSs and xSSSs or xS-SCHs or a same xPSS and different xSSS or xS-SCH.

Abstract: Techniques are described relating to hybrid automatic repeat request acknowledgement (HARQ-ACK) feedback using a HARQ-ACK aggregation window. A User Equipment (UE) may receive control information (e.g., downlink control information (DCI) or radio resource control (RRC) signaling) from a base station including HARQ-ACK codebook information. The HARQ-ACK codebook information may include information on a size of a HARQ-ACK aggregation window. The UE may decode physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) transmissions and encode corresponding HARQ-ACK feedback using the HARQ-ACK aggregation window based on the control signaling.

Abstract: Apparatus that sends uplink control information (UCI) from user equipment (UE) to a network node, generates elements of the UCI including at least one of hybrid automatic repeat request-acknowledgement (HARQ-ACK) feedback for one or more uplink (UL) resources, a scheduling request (SR), a channel state information (CSI) report and a beam related information report in response to a trigger set by the network node. The apparatus encodes the UCI elements for transmission via a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) or a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) of the one or more UL resources. The one or more UL resources may be UL slots or UL portions of downlink-uplink (DL-UL) slots received from a network node.

An embodiment provides an apparatus for a user equipment (UE), comprising baseband processing circuitry configured to receive downlink control information (DCI) that indicates a number of slots for a Tracking Reference Signal (TRS, wherein the number of slots is based on a subcarrier spacing of a bandwidth part (BWP) in a current component carrier for the UE and receive TRS based on the number of slots indicated in the DCI, a frequency density of the TRS based on a bandwidth for the TRS, and a quasi co-location (QCL) relationship of the TRS, wherein the QCL relationship indicates that the TRS is Quasi-Co-Located (QCLed) with a Synchronization Signal (SS) block or a Channel State Information Reference Signal (CSI-RS).

Abstract: Systems, methods, and baseband processors are provided to generate or process symbols in a synchronization subframe. In one example, a method includes selecting non-consecutive orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbols in a synchronization subframe. A transmitter is instructed to transmit demodulation reference symbols (DM-RS) on identical first sets of subcarriers in respective OFDM symbols of the selected non-consecutive OFDM symbols for a Physical Broadcast Channel (PBCH) using a same transmit beam, wherein a gap between two subcarriers in a respective set of the identical first sets of subcarriers is three subcarriers. The transmitter is instructed to transmit the PBCH on identical second sets of subcarriers in respective OFDM symbols in the selected non-consecutive OFDM symbols.

Abstract: Provided herein are method and apparatus for channel coding in the fifth Generation (5G) New Radio (NR) system. An embodiment provides an apparatus for a Next Generation NodeB (gNB), including circuitry, which is configured to: generate Downlink Control Information (DCI) payload for a NR-Physical Downlink Control Channel (NR-PDCCH); attach Cyclic Redundancy Check (CRC) to the DCI payload; mask the CRC with an Radio Network Temporary Identifier (RNTI) using a bitwise modulus 2 addition operation, wherein the number of bits for the RNTI is different from the number of bits for the CRC; and perform polar encoding for the DCI payload with the masked CRC.

Abstract: Technology for a user equipment (UE) using a self-contained scheduling resource to communicate with an eNodeB within a wireless communication network is disclosed. The UE can select, at the UE, a selected eNodeB transmission (Tx) beam and a selected UE reception (Rx) beam based on a highest power beamforming reference signal (BRS) received power (BRS-RP). The UE can signal a transceiver of the UE to transmit to the eNodeB a scheduling request (SR), using the selected Rx beam, on a scheduling request (SR) resource in a self-contained subframe according to a time and frequency location of the selected eNodeB Tx beam. The UE can process an advanced physical downlink control channel (xPDCCH), received from the eNodeB, for an uplink (UL) grant using the selected UE RX beam.
