    Abstract: An olfactory communication system for generating aroma-based notifications to one or more occupants of a vehicle includes an aroma diffuser that emits aromas into an interior cabin of the vehicle and a controller in electronic communication with the aroma diffuser. The one or more controllers execute instructions to receive a message indicating a specific event is occurring, where the specific event is an occurrence that the one or more occupants experience while in the interior cabin of the vehicle. In response to receiving the message, the one or more controllers determine a customized aroma based on the specific event, where the customized aroma creates an odor that informs the one or more occupants of the specific event. The one or more controllers instruct the aroma diffuser to emit the customized aroma into the interior cabin of the vehicle.

    Abstract: A system for communicating vehicle-specific features to one or more personal electronic devices includes one or more controllers in wireless communication with a centralized computer system including one or more database for storing the vehicle-specific features. The one or more controllers execute instructions to undergo a passive wireless interaction with the one or more personal electronic devices. The passive wireless interaction involves determining the one or more personal electronic devices are located within a predefined proximity around a vehicle without human interaction. In response to undergoing the passive wireless interaction, the one or more controllers transmit one or more vehicle-specific features to the one or more personal electronic devices, where the one or more vehicle-specific features are unique to the vehicle.

    Abstract: A control system for a vehicle comprises a controller comprising a processor and a non-transitory computer-readable medium including instructions. The system comprises a transformable knob manipulated between first and second states. The knob comprises a body having a periphery wall arranged to flex between first and second configurations with the first and second states, respectively. The system comprises an output device arranged to change between first and second settings. Manipulation of the transformable knob from the first state to the second state transmits an input signal to the controller and facilitates flexing of the periphery wall from the first configuration to the second configuration. The controller receives the input signal, and the processor compares the input signal to the instructions in the non-transitory computer-readable medium and transmit an output signal to the output device to change the output device from the first setting to the second setting.

    Abstract: A head up display system of a vehicle includes: a communication module configured to receive a period until a traffic signal of an intersection of roads will change from a first state to a second state; a distance module configured to, based on the period and a present speed of the vehicle, determine a distance in front of the vehicle where the vehicle will be when the traffic signal transitions from the first state to the second state; a light source configured to, via a windshield of the vehicle, generate a virtual display that is visible within a passenger cabin of the vehicle; and a display control module configured to, based on the distance, control the light source to include, in the virtual display, a visual indicator of a location in a path of the vehicle where the traffic signal will transition from the first state to the second state.
