Abstract:
A method of installing multiple over-the-air antennas is disclosed. The method includes the steps of mounting a satellite antenna to a installation surface, such that the mounting allows the satellite antenna to be aimed at a satellite, attaching a broadband access antenna to one of the installation surface and a portion of the satellite antenna, such that the attaching allows the broadband access antenna to be aimed at a broadband access source, connecting first wiring from the broadband access antenna to a first downconverter and second wiring from the satellite antenna to a second downconverter, providing outputs of the first and second downconverters to a cable in communication with at least a satellite receiver and positioning, on at least a coarse scale, the satellite antenna and the broadband access antenna such that they are approximately pointed at the satellite and the broadband access source, respectively.
Abstract:
A method for analyzing an oilfield network. The method includes collecting oilfield data from an oilfield network, modeling a first wellsite and a second wellsite using the oilfield data to create a first production model of the first wellsite and a second production model of the second wellsite. The method further includes modeling a sub-network of the oilfield network to create a third production model of the sub-network. The modeling of the sub-network includes identifying a junction of branches associated with the first wellsite and the second wellsite. A fourth production model is created for the junction by combining the first production model with the second production model. The production model of the sub-network is created using the fourth production model of the junction. The method further includes solving the oilfield network based on the third production model to create a production result, and storing the production result.
Abstract:
Certain aspects of the invention for controlling transfer of media content in a communication network may comprise the step of receiving an input specifying at least one media file for transfer via a communication channel in the communication network. Based on a received selection specifying various quality of service (QoS) parameters to be utilized to transfer one or more of the media files, one or more of the media files may be transferred via the communication channel utilizing at least some of the received quality of service selection. At least a portion of the specified parameters may be transferred to a first communication device such as a broadband headend or a media server that is coupled to the communication network. The second device may utilize some or all of the transferred parameters to configure at least a portion of the communication channel over which the file is transferred.
Abstract:
While receiving content for a service at a user device via a particular delivery route, detecting a request for delivery of subsequent content for the service via a secure alternate delivery route. The user device may concurrently receive delivery of the subsequent content via the particular delivery route and the secure alternate delivery route. The detected request may be generated based on QoS associated with the received content of the service. The detected request may be received from a communication network and may comprise identification information for the particular delivery route. The secure alternate delivery route may be determined based on the identification information for the particular delivery route. A communication session profile may be generated and/or determined based on the secure alternate delivery route. The communication session profile is utilized for the requested delivery of the further content via the secure alternate delivery route.
Abstract:
A channel selection canvas for display on a video display device is disclosed. The video display device can be a television, a laptop computer, or personal digital assistant device. The channel selection canvas allows a user to preview and choose video signals to be watched. The channel selection canvas displays a set of television channel video thumbnails, which can be full motion video, slow motion video or sampled video snapshots. A channel selection canvas can also display video thumbnails for security cameras, baby monitors, video phones and the like. A channel selection canvas generator that generates channel selection canvases is also disclosed. The channel selection canvas generator can reside within a television, set top box or similar video processing device.
Abstract:
Aspects for secure access and communication of information in a distributed media network may include detecting when a legacy media peripheral is connected to a PC and/or a media processing system on the distributed media network. One or more identifiers associated with the legacy media peripheral may be established and utilized to facilitate communication of the legacy media peripheral over the distributed media network. At least one legacy media peripheral identifier and at least one identifier of a user utilizing the legacy media peripheral may be requested. The legacy media peripheral identifier may be a serial number of the legacy media peripheral, while the user identifier may be a user password and/or a user name. Media peripheral association software may be executed on the PC and/or the media processing system and utilized for media peripheral association and authentication in accordance with various embodiments of the invention.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a wireless telephone having a first microphone and a second microphone and a method for processing audio signal in a wireless telephone having a first microphone and a second microphone. The wireless telephone includes a first microphone, a second microphone, and a signal processor. The first microphone outputs a first audio signal, the first audio signal comprising a voice component and a background noise component. The second microphone outputs a second audio signal. The signal processor increases a ratio of the voice component to the noise component of the first audio signal based on the content of at least one of the first audio signal and the second audio signal to produce a third audio signal.
Abstract:
Certain aspects of the invention for porting information between locations in a communication network may comprise storing media along with meta data associated with the stored media on a storage unit which may be a media processing unit that is coupled to a communication device at a first location. Whenever the storage unit is transferred to a second location such as a home and coupled to a second communication device, a channel view or channel guide comprising representations of the stored media may be presented on a television at the second location. Responsive to receiving a selection via the presented channel guide, one or more media files corresponding to the received selection may be presented/displayed on the television and/or a media player such as an audio player within the home. The stored media may be received at the first location via a wired and/or a wireless interface.
Abstract:
A waste treatment system shreds waste material into small pieces and soaks the pieces in a liquid disinfectant. The system includes a feed hopper, a shredder, a wetting area, an air operated pump, a dwell area, vibratory de-watering apparatus, and a de-watering auger. Unprocessed waste material is dumped into the feed hopper. The feed hopper feeds the unprocessed waste material into the shredder. The shredder includes a rotor and anvil for shredding the unprocessed waste material. The shredded material falls into the wetting area where the shredded material is wetted with the liquid disinfectant to create a wetted slurry. The wetted slurry is advanced by an air operated pump into a dwell-area for an additional three to four minutes of wetted time in the dwell-area before entering the vibratory de-watering apparatus and then the auger. The total wetting time allows the waste material to be completely disinfected.
Abstract:
A transcription network having linked computer terminals for a court reporter and for examining, defending, and associate attorneys is disclosed. Real-time transcription text is communicated from the reporter's terminal through the network. Secure message interchange between the examining attorneys and between defending attorneys is provided along independent communication links and using encryption. Off-site terminals for clients, experts, or other associate attorneys may be linked to the network. A synchronization scheme provides for automatic play-back of audio and video recordings corresponding to the transcribed text. One embodiment of the system provides for billing, monitoring, collection and authorization of transcription events.
