Abstract: Systems and methods for providing services are disclosed. One aspect comprises authenticating a user associated with a first service, receiving a selection of a second service, generating an opaque identifier associated with the user and the first service, wherein the opaque identifier facilitates the anonymous collection of data relating to the second service. Another aspect can comprise transmitting the opaque identifier to the second service, and receiving data relating to the second service.

Abstract: A system is provided for publishing a plurality of disparate live media output stream manifests using live input streams and pre-encoded media assets. A first instruction, comprising input manifest locations, is allocated to a first worker based on an instruction type and a priority level. At least one of a first manifest data or a second manifest data is read by the first worker from a corresponding input manifest location. A second instruction is allocated to a second worker. A next manifest segment is inserted to a disparate live output stream manifest by the second worker based on reading an ingested manifest metadata. Accordingly, a plurality of disparate live media output stream manifests is generated for each of a plurality of channels based on the disparate live output stream manifest.

More specifically, techniques involve performing one or more “probe” encodings of the particular content to determine an encoding bit rate (and optionally other profile settings) that results in an encoding having a quality value sufficiently near (within a threshold) a target quality value.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus to generate audience measurement data from population sample data having incomplete demographic classifications are disclosed. An example method includes detecting that a number of impressions a time segment of a video occurred based on messages; detecting that no impressions for the time segment of the video were detected by the database proprietor; determining respective percentages of exposures of the video that are attributable to corresponding ones of multiple demographic groups, determining the respective percentages being based on the first demographic information provided by the database proprietor for exposures of other time segments of the video; attributing respective portions of the number of impressions to the demographic groups based on the respective percentages to determine imputed numbers of impressions; generating adjusted numbers of impressions based on the imputed numbers of impressions; and determining ratings information for the video using the adjusted numbers of impressions.

An example apparatus includes a collector to collect first constituent media signatures from a first media device that identify a first portion of media, a collector to collect second constituent media signatures from a second media device that identify a second portion of the media, and a synthesizer to combine the first constituent media signatures from the first media device and the second constituent media signatures from the second media device to form a reference media signature that represents the media, the reference media signature for comparison with third constituent media signatures collected from a third media device to detect consumption of the media at the third media device.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclose involve a method, a device, and a system comprising a processor and a machine-readable storage medium storing at a set of instructions for identification and authentication of user profiles associated with a digital television system and displaying information related thereto. In example embodiments, the method includes identifying a user profile registered with a content presentation device based on received identification data that includes biometric data. The method further includes receiving, from a server, identifiers of a set of recently watched channels associated with the user profile and causing presentation of a recent channels interface that includes selectable elements corresponding to the set of recently watched channels.

Abstract: An image display device includes a communication device transmits a transmission request to each of the image transmission devices and receives a frame including differential data transmitted by each image transmission device in response to the transmission request. A measurement unit measures, for each image transmission device, a first required time interval, which is the time required from the start of transmission of the transmission request until the start of reception of the frame, and a second required time interval, which is the time required from the start of reception until the completion of reception of the frame. A control unit causes transmission requests to be sent to each of the image transmission devices at predetermined transmission intervals, causes measurement unit to measure the first and second required time intervals, and changes the transmission interval of the transmission request based on the measurement results.
