Abstract: A method, operational at a device, includes receiving at least one packet belonging to a first set of packets of a packet flow marked with an identification value, determining that the at least one packet is marked with the identification value, determining to change a quality of service (QoS) treatment of packets belonging to the first set of packets marked with the identification value that are yet to be received, and sending a request to change the QoS treatment of packets belonging to the first set of packets marked with the identification value that are yet to be received to trigger a different QoS treatment of packets within the packet flow, responsive to determining to change the QoS treatment. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.

Abstract: A gateway device detects a trigger associated with a device and, in response, identifies an application service associated with the device, obtains a traffic network policy associated with the application service, and obtains a network access token based on the traffic network policy. The network access token facilitates validating and/or mapping a downlink data packet obtained at the gateway device in user-plane traffic that is destined for the device. The network access token is sent to an entity in control-plane signaling. Subsequently, the gateway device obtains a downlink data packet including the network access token. The gateway device verifies the network access token and/or maps the downlink data packet to the device using data obtained from the network access token. The network access token may be removed from the downlink data packet before the downlink data packet is sent to the device according to the mapping.

Abstract: A client device may determine whether to obtain an element of information related to a service parameter from an access node. The access node may be associated with a plurality of connectivity access networks. The element of information can be selected and associated with a query. The query can be derived and configured according to one of a plurality of modes. The query can be sent as an over-the-air message to the access node. A service query protocol (SQP) server may be coupled to the access node. The query may be obtained at the SQP server from client device via the access node. A response to the query may be derived based on the element of information associated with the query and the mode of the query. The response may be sent from the access node to the client device.

Abstract: In aspects of the disclosure, a method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication by a user equipment (UE) are provided. In one aspect, the UE associates with an access point of a wireless local area network which may be untrusted, obtains a list comprising a plurality of public land mobile network (PLMN) entries and one or more selection conditions associated with each one of the plurality of PLMN entries, and selects a PLMN from the list when the one or more selection conditions associated with the PLMN are satisfied. The UE may further discover an evolved packet data gateway (ePDG) for the selected PLMN using one or more fully qualified domain name (FQDN) rules for the selected PLMN. The UE may then attach to the selected PLMN using the discovered ePDG.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for wireless communication. A user equipment (UE) device may be connected to a first evolved packet data gateway (ePDG) via a first radio access technology (RAT). The UE may evaluate, either periodically or based on a trigger event, an ePDG reselection metric associated with the first ePDG to determine whether selecting a second ePDG different from the first ePDG is viable. The UE may then reselect to a second ePDG based on whether the ePDG reselection metric satisfies one or more selection conditions. Selection conditions may include, for example, a change in the location or public land mobile network (PLMN) of the UE, UE movement between networks, or a connection failure associated with the first ePDG.

Abstract: Techniques are described herein to communicate policy information and policy information requests between user equipments (UEs) and a core network using control plane signaling. In some examples, non-access stratum (NAS) messages may be used to communicate policy information requests from a UE to the core network. Similarly, NAS messages may be used to communicate up-to-date policy information from the core network to the UE. In some examples, the core network may include number of functions to manage the communication of policy information with the UE. In some examples where the UE is roaming away from its home network, the core network may engage in additional signaling to pass policy information to the UE.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus supporting multiple concurrent service contexts sharing a single connectivity context are disclosed. A device may initiate a radio link with a network node and establish a connectivity context with the network node over the radio link using a connectivity logical context of the device. The network node may receive, authenticate, and authorize context establishment requests. A first service context with a first service management entity may be established over the radio link using a first logical context of the device, where the first logical context is distinct from the connectivity logical context. Multiple service connections using multiple service contexts based on multiple logical contexts of the device may share the connectivity context and may be established over the radio link.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) offloading through radio access network rules. In one embodiment of a method of wireless communication, a mobile device may determine that Radio Access Network (RAN) assistance information is unavailable, the RAN assistance information including a first set of thresholds for switching a Packet Data Network (PDN) connection of the mobile device from a WLAN to a Wireless Wide Area Network (WWAN). The mobile device may further access a second set of thresholds based at least in part on the determining, and the mobile device may determine to switch the PDN connection from the WLAN to the WWAN based at least in part on the second set of thresholds.
