Abstract: Described are automated guided vehicles (AGVs) that can autonomously engage and transport a payload carrier in a human collaborative materials handling facility environment. Embodiments of the present disclosure can be deployed in various materials handling facilities (e.g., a sortation facility, a cross dock center, a fulfillment center, a warehouse, a delivery center, etc.) to facilitate efficient and automated transport of a payload carrier, such as a cart, alongside human workers in unstructured, collaborative environments. Further, the exemplary autonomous vehicle of the present disclosure can engage payload carriers (e.g., carts, etc.) in various configurations and orientations to facilitate multiple modes of transport.

Abstract: Tray flipper automation tools are described. In one example, a tray flipper includes a flip arm positioned along a conveyor, a tamper arm, a drive system, and a controller. The controller is configured to detect alignment of a tray on the conveyor with the flip arm, direct the drive system to rotate the tamper arm to a position over the tray, and actuate a tamper plate of the tamper arm to secure contents in the tray. The controller is also configured to rotate the tamper arm and the flip arm, with the tray secured between them, to an inverted position off of the conveyor. Items positioned within the tray can be flipped over when the tamper arm and the flip arm rotate away from the conveyor. The flip arm and tray can then be rotated back, leaving the items resting on the tamper plate for inspection and materials handling steps.

Abstract: Described herein is a computer-implemented method for generating a task-specific simulated robotic manipulator. A computing device receives, via a robotic design user interface, at least one of task information or constraint information. The computing device selects a set of components for a simulated robotic manipulator from a plurality of components in accordance with at least one of the task information or the constraint information. The computing device generates geometric, kinematic, and/or dynamic information corresponding to the set of components. The geometric, kinematic, and/or dynamic information identifies, for individual components of the set of components, one or more properties. The computing device generates a simulated representation of the simulated robotic manipulator based at least in part on set of components and the geometric, kinematic, and/or dynamic information. The computing device provides, for presentation via a display portion of the robotic design user interface, the simulated representation of the simulated robotic manipulator.

Abstract: The following description is directed to a logic repository service. In one example, a method of a logic repository service can include receiving a first request to generate configuration data for configurable hardware using a specification for application logic of the configurable hardware. The method can include generating the configuration data for the configurable hardware. The configuration data can include data for implementing the application logic. The method can include receiving a second request to download the configuration data to a host server computer comprising the configurable hardware. The method can include transmitting the configuration data to the host server computer in response to the second request so that the configurable hardware is configured with the host logic and the application logic.

Abstract: A provider network implements service discovery and renaming. A provider network includes a domain name service (DNS) and a renaming tool. The DNS receives queries for service names and sends query logs to a data store. Each query log indicates the queried name and a network address (e.g., IP address). A user may request that the service be renamed to a new name. In response, the renaming tool adds a new entry to for the new name to the DNS. The renaming tool retrieves data from the query logs and identifies clients of the service. The renaming tool sends a notification to the identified clients that the name has changed to the new name. The renaming manger retrieves additional data from the query logs to identify how many of the clients have switched to using the new name. After enough clients have switched, the old name may be decommissioned.
