Abstract:
Provided is a method of minimizing power consumed by each node in a wireless network when communicating with neighboring nodes.Unlike a conventional synchronous media access control (MAC), the present invention suggests an asynchronous MAC. Thus, the active duration of a node extends only when transmitting a large quantity of data and the extended active duration returns to the minimum active duration again after completing the data transmission.
Abstract:
An apparatus for storing sensing data in a tag and a method thereof are provided. According to the present invention, data measured by the sensor is stored in volatile memory and important data from among the data stored in the volatile memory is stored in non-volatile memory according to a pre-set data loss prevention mechanism so that a battery and the tag including the battery have a longer life and stability of data can be secured.
Abstract:
A cable to waveguide transition apparatus having a signal accumulation form of a backshort is disclosed. The cable to waveguide transition apparatus having a signal accumulation form of a backshort, includes: a waveguide; a RF probe for transferring a radio frequency (RF) signal to the waveguide; and a backshort having the signal accumulation form for reflecting the RF signal excited from the RF probe, wherein the backshort reflects a first fundamental frequency signal excited from the RF probe to have a phase identical to a phase of a second fundamental frequency signal excited from the RF probe to an aperture of the waveguide, and reflects a first 2-order harmonic frequency signal excited from the RF probe to have a phase reverse to a phase of a second 2-order harmonic frequency signal excited to an aperture of the waveguide in order to eliminate the 2-order harmonic frequency signal.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a method and apparatus for assigning a channel in an ad-hoc network, which can minimize beacon collision in the ad-hoc network and prevent channel overlapping or collision, and thus a channel can be efficiently assigned. The method of assigning a channel including: obtaining join order information which is information on the order in which a first node has been joined to a second node, which is a parent node, and level information of the second node in an ad-hoc network; determining a reference value for setting a channel that is to be assigned to the first node based on an address value of the first node, which is determined based on the join order information and the level information, a level value of the first node, a channel value of the second node, which is determined based on the level information, and the join order information; and determining a channel value of the first node by dividing the reference value by the maximum number of usable channels in the ad-hoc network.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for operating a server for an RFID reader by using both an SNMP command language and an RM/RP command language, and a method for operating an RFID reader are provided. The method for operating a server for an RFID reader includes: generating a mapping table including an object of an RFID reader, a management target, and an object identifier (OID) which are mapped to each other; checking and configuring the object of the RFID reader by using an simple network management protocol (SNMP) command language; and checking and configuring the object of the RFID reader by using a reader management/reader protocol (RM/RP) command language.
Abstract:
A data communication system is provided. The data communication system includes a main processor, and at least one sub-processor or at least one peripheral device connected with the main processor according to a serial peripheral interface (SPI) method and performing an operation corresponding to a command transferred from the main processor. The connection according to the SPI method is made by one or more bus lines including e a master in slave out (MISO) line and master out slave in (MOSI) line, a slave select (SS) line, an interrupt line, and a clock transfer line.
Abstract:
Provided are a method and apparatus for sharing a portable terminal in a Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) and a mobile Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) system. The portable terminal includes: a CDMA mobile station system for performing CDMA communication; a mobile RFID system for performing a passive RFID reader function; a switching unit for switching an antenna to any one between the CDMA mobile station system and the mobile RFID system; and a control unit for controlling the switching unit to connect the antenna to the CDMA mobile station system when the portable terminal transmits/receives a signal to/from the base station, or connect the antenna to the mobile RFID system when the portable terminal transmits/receives a signal to/from an RFID tag.
Abstract:
Provided are a radio frequency identification (RFID) tag and a wake-up method thereof. The RFID tag includes: a power source that supplies a driving voltage; a continuous wave detector that receives the driving voltage from the power supply so as to detect a continuous wave in a signal received from an RFID tag reader; a command detector that selectively receives the driving voltage and detects a command in the signal; and a controller that executes the command detected by the command detector by supplying the driving voltage to the command detector if the continuous wave is detected, and stops the driving voltage from being supplied to the command detector if no command is received from the command detector for a predetermined time period.
Abstract:
An antenna attached to an object and transmitting electromagnetic waves that are modulated by an RFID tag chip includes a polygonal dielectric material layer that is adjacent to the object, a microstrip patch that determines a resonance frequency of the antenna, a microstrip line that is electromagnetically coupled with the microstrip match, and a shorting pin that disconnects the object and the microstrip line. Accordingly, a small-sized antenna that can be attached to metal can be realized.
Abstract:
Disclosed is an apparatus and method for preventing a collision in an RFID system, the method including: transmitting a Query to at least one tag, verifying whether an adjustment of a slot counter is required based on a response received from the tag, adjusting the slot counter when the verifying verifies that the adjustment of the slot counter is required, and transmitting the adjusted slot counter to the tag using a QueryAdjust regardless of whether a current frame is completed.
