    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a composition and methods for preparing a tissue-derived, dissolved extracellular matrix. In implementations, the extracellular matrix composition includes components native to the cornea including liquefied corneal tissue. The extracellular matrix composition can be prepared by dissolving extracted corneas in an aqueous solution of inorganic base. The resulting solution is then dialyzed to achieve a physiological pH. In some implementations, the extracellular matrix composition can be seeded and/or chemically cross-linked to form a gel matrix. The extracellular matrix and/or the gel matrix can be seeded with a desired cell type (e.g., endothelial cells, epithelial cells, stromal keratocytes, etc.) to stimulate cell proliferation and regeneration.

    Abstract: A process cheese produced by a combination of an acid curd and a concentrated milk protein at specific ratios is disclosed. The process cheese is produced without an emulsifying salt. A method of producing the process cheese is disclosed. The method includes preparing a volume of concentrated milk protein and a volume of acid curd. The method further includes producing a volume of process cheese product by combining the volume of the concentrated milk protein and the volume of acid curd. The ratio of protein in the acid curd to the protein in the concentrated milk protein ranges from 1.35:1 to 3.35:1.

    Abstract: An improved a device and method for dispersion and simultaneous orientation of nanoparticles within a matrix is provided. A mixer having a shaft and a stator is provided. The shaft may have a rupture region and erosion region. Further, an orienter having an angled stationary plate and a moving plate are provided. The nanoparticles and the matrix are fed into the mixer. A rotational force is applied to the shaft to produce shearing forces. The shearing forces disperse and exfoliate the nanoparticles within the matrix. The dispersed mixture is outputted onto the moving plate. The moving plate is forced across the angled stationary plate to produce fully developed laminar shear flow. The fully developed laminar shear flow or the two-dimensional extensional drag flow orients the dispersed nanoparticles-matrix mixture.

    Abstract: A method for forming a modified micellar casein concentrate includes providing a volume of skim milk. The method further includes performing a first filtration process on the volume of skim milk to form a micellar casein concentrate. The method includes mixing carbon dioxide with at least a portion of the micellar casein concentrate to solubilize one or more components of the micellar casein concentrate. The method includes performing an additional filtration process on the mixture of carbon dioxide and micellar casein concentrate to remove at least a portion of the one or more solubilized components of the micellar casein concentrate to form a modified micellar casein concentrate.
