Abstract:
A preliminary set of candidate red-eye pixel areas is identified based on computed pixel redness measures. Candidate red-eye pixel areas having computed redness contrasts relative to respective neighboring pixel areas less than a prescribed redness contrast threshold are filtered from the preliminary set. Candidate red-eye pixel areas located in areas of the digital image having computed grayscale contrasts relative to respective neighboring pixel areas less than a prescribed grayscale contrast threshold also are filtered from the preliminary set. In another aspect, a final pixel mask identifying red-eye pixels and non-red-eye pixels in the candidate red-eye area is generated. Pixels in the candidate red-eye pixel area identified as red-eye pixels in the final pixel mask are desaturated from their original color values by respective scaling factors that vary depending on luminance of the pixels in the candidate red-eye pixel area and proximity of the pixels to boundaries between red-eye pixels and non-red-eye pixels.
Abstract:
This disclosure provides a valve which is controlled by a magnetic actuator. More specifically, the actuator is a polarized, magnetic actuator, that is, a magnetic actuator containing both a permanent magnet and an electromagnet. The actuator can be an inexpensive commercial relay having a pivoting armature that pushes a compliant diaphragm against a valve seat to close the valve. Preferably, the armature is configured as a “see-saw,” such that as the valve is opened, an opposing end of the see-saw also displaces the diaphragm. In this manner, fluid pressure in a valve chamber is relatively constant, and there are no significant pressures which prevent the valve from opening and closing. The preferred application of the valve is to actively drive printer ink supply, such that ink can be selectively drawn using the valve from a remote ink supply into a local ink reservoir, mounted near a print head. A sensor at the local reservoir is used to detect air or low pressure, and causes the valve to open and draw more ink into the local reservoir.
Abstract:
System and method for cleaning an electrical delivery system. An embodiment of the self-cleaning electrical delivery system comprises a track having an abrasive surface and a brush operatively associated with the track, the brush moving over the abrasive surface of the track to remove debris from the brush. A tool for producing the abrasive surface is also disclosed.
Abstract:
One embodiment of the invention is a method for producing a hardware solver for intermediate code comprising analyzing intermediate code for at least one instantiation that may cause at least one of wire delay and congestion in the solver, forming compensation for the at least one instantiation, and forming the solver in accordance with the compensation.
Abstract:
A media print system includes a first print unit, a second print unit, at least one actuator configured to move the first unit and the second unit relative to one another and a controller configured to generate control signals. The at least one actuator positions the first unit and the second unit at the first and second positions, respectively, during a first longitudinal pass of a medium and positions the first unit at a third position during a second longitudinal pass of the medium in response to the control signals.
Abstract:
The disclosed embodiments relate to the field of remote server management. More particularly, the embodiments relate to providing an embedded JTAG master in a remote server management controller. In an exemplary embodiment, the JTAG master is adapted to perform command and control functions on a wide range of integrated circuit components within a managed server. The JTAG master may also be configured to provide communication according to the In-Target Probe (ITP) and In-Circuit Emulation (ICE) test methodologies.
Abstract:
A computer system with dynamic device identification redirection. The computer system may include a processor, a system memory, and a bridge logic device having a peripheral bus interface. The bridge logic device is associated with at least a first address line, which is also associated with a first peripheral device. The computer system may also include a logic device coupled to the peripheral bus that swaps a second address line for the first address line when a peripheral bus cycle is run to the first address line.
Abstract:
A metal-insulator-metal device includes a layer having a major dimensional surface. The layer has a first portion having a first boundary, a second metal portion having a second boundary facing the first boundary in a direction parallel to the surface and a non-linear dielectric between the first boundary and the second boundary and having a thickness orthogonal to the surface.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for cleaning an image transfer surface in an image transfer device. The cleaning apparatus includes a first cleaning station and a second cleaning station positioned to consecutively clean the image transfer surface. The first and second cleaning stations apply cleaning fluid to the image transfer surface and remove cleaning fluid with residual material from the image transfer surface. A first tank supplies cleaning fluid to, and receives cleaning fluid with residual material from, the first cleaning station. A second tank supplies cleaning fluid to, and receives cleaning fluid with residual material from, the second cleaning station. The second tank also supplies cleaning fluid to the first tank.
