A supporting device for supporting a furrow device and/or for connecting the same to a seed tube of a seed planting unit is described. The supporting device may include a connection element and an alignment element joined to the connection element. The connection element may include a connection feature and a stand feature. The connection feature may be configured to attach the furrow device to the supporting device. The stand feature may be configured to position the furrow device at a desired angle relative to the furrow. The alignment element may include an alignment feature and a positioning feature. The alignment feature may be configured to axially align a longitudinal axis of the supporting device with a longitudinal axis of the seed tube. The positioning feature may be configured to position the furrow device at a desired location along a longitudinal dimension of the seed tube.

A precision seed-dispensing system of the type applied on planters with a machine element that touches the soil and having a chassis that supports the seed meter. An air seeder apparatus has a frame and a plurality of furrow opener assemblies spaced across a width of the frame at a narrow row spacing, and a plurality of bulk product containers and a bulk meter mounted on each, one of which dispenses seeds through a distribution network to a seed tube on each furrow opener assembly. A plurality of singulating meter is provided, each dispensing singulated seeds to the furrow opener on one of the furrow opener assemblies. During singulating operation seeds are delivered to the singulating furrow opener assemblies only by the singulating seed meter, and during conventional operation seeds are delivered to the singulating furrow opener assemblies only by the bulk meter. A lift system, when in a singulating mode, maintains idle conventional furrow opener assemblies in the transport position while moving singulating furrow opener assemblies between the operating position and the transport position.

An agricultural row unit includes a hopper configured to store agricultural product, a mounting assembly configured to removably couple the hopper to a chassis of the agricultural row unit, and a flow control assembly coupled to the hopper and configured to selectively block flow of the agricultural product through a product passage of the hopper. The product passage is configured to convey the agricultural product from a product storage portion of the hopper to a product metering assembly of the agricultural row unit while the hopper is coupled to the chassis. The mounting assembly is configured to engage the hopper remote from an outlet of the product passage and from the flow control assembly, and the mounting assembly is configured to support a substantial portion of a load associated with the hopper and any agricultural product stored within the hopper.

A furrow tool configured to attach to a planting device includes a compressor including a body portion. A deflector is connected to the compressor. The deflector is made of a first material and configured to deflect seeds into the furrow after being released from a seed tube. The compressor is directly attached to the deflector and made of a second material having a separate structure from the deflector. The compressor is configured to compress the seeds into the furrow. An attachment mechanism is operatively connected to the deflector and configured to attach to the planting device.
