Abstract: Methods, apparatus, and processor-readable storage media related to a robotic system for automated soil testing and analyses are provided herein. A computer-implemented method includes processing data pertaining to a given geographical region, generating one or more navigational courses within the given geographical region based at least in part on the processed data, and automatically collecting one or more soil samples at one or more predetermined locations within the given geographical region, in accordance with at least one of the generated navigational courses. Such a method also includes automatically analyzing the one or more collected soil samples based on one or more predetermined soil-related parameters, and generating and outputting results of the analyzing of the one or more collected soil samples.

Abstract: Agricultural seed planting systems include a processing unit, a frame, a furrow opener coupled to the frame for opening a furrow in soil, and a sensor in communication with the processing unit and adapted to sense a characteristic associated with seed planting. The sensor may generate a signal associated with the sensed characteristic and the processing unit may receive the signal. In some aspects, the sensed characteristic may be either a soil characteristic or a seed characteristic. Information associated with the sensed characteristic can be saved in memory for future use and to assist with more effective planting in the future.

Abstract: An implement management system detects implement wear and monitors implement states to modify operating modes of a vehicle. The system can determine implement wear using the pull of the implement on the vehicle, the force and angle of which is represented by an orientation vector. The system may measure a current orientation vector and determine an expected orientation vector using sensors and a model (e.g., a machine learned model). Additionally, the implement management system can determine an implement state based on images of the soil and the implement captured by a camera onboard the vehicle during operation. The system may apply different models to the images to determine a likely state of the implement. The difference between the expected and current orientation vectors or the determined implement state may be used to determine whether and how the vehicle's operating mode should be modified.

Abstract: In one aspect, a method for detecting residue bunches within a field includes receiving one or more images depicting an imaged portion of an agricultural field, with the imaged portion of the field being at least partially represented by a plurality of pixels within the one or more images. The method also includes classifying a portion of the plurality of pixels that are associated with crop residue within the imaged portion of the field as residue pixels, with each residue pixel being associated with a respective pixel height. Additionally, the method includes identifying each residue pixel having a pixel height that exceeds a pixel height threshold as a candidate residue bunch pixel, and determining whether a residue bunch is present within the imaged portion of the field based at least in part on the candidate residue bunch pixels.

The method can further include steps for executing an action for producing a desired outcome in relation to the agriculture site, with respect to a specific soil type and a specific crop, based upon the analysis.
