An internal combustion engine includes an exhaust manifold; an intake manifold; and a turbocharger including a turbine in communication with the exhaust manifold, and a compressor in communication with the intake manifold. An electrical generator is coupled with the turbine. A motor receives electrical input power from the generator and provides mechanical output power. A combustor selectively provides additional input power to the motor.
Abstract:
A pin has a shank with a spherical lead-in portion at the free end thereof. The spherical lead-in portion has a diameter that is equal to or slightly less than the diameter of a cylindrical portion of the pin. The purpose of the spherical lead-in portion is to allow a greater portion of the pin to enter a matching hole before further alignment of the centerlines of the pin and the hole is required. This makes aligning the centerlines significantly easier and reduces wear on the structure defining the matching hole. A relief portion following the spherical lead-in portion as well as a chamfer following the relief portion aid in the final alignment.

A method and system for adaptively controlling a hybrid vehicle comprises a recorder for recording a historical load or duty cycle of vehicle during or after operation of the vehicle. A classifier classifies the historical load in accordance with a load category. A controller assigns at least one of a current control curve and a slew rate control curve associated with the load category for a defined time period after the recording of the historical load or if the vehicle is presently operating generally consistent with the load category. At least one of the current control curve and the slew rate control curve, or data representative thereof, are used to control an operation of an electric drive motor of the vehicle for the defined time period.

A hydraulic filter assembly includes a housing mounted to a manifold which has a first inlet port, a second inlet port and an outlet port. The housing encloses a hollow outer filter element and a hollow inner filter element spaced apart from and received within the outer filter element. The housing and the outer filter element enclose an outer chamber therebetween, the outer filter element and the inner filter element enclose a middle chamber therebetween, and the inner filter element surround an inner chamber. The manifold has a first passage communicating the first inlet port to the inner chamber, a second passage communicating the second inlet port to the outer chamber, and a third passage communicating the middle chamber to the outlet port. As a result, fluid flows from the outer chamber to the middle chamber via the outer filter element and so that fluid flows from the inner chamber to the middle chamber via the inner filter element.

A cutting platform for use with an agricultural harvesting machine includes a plurality of platform sections, with each platform section including a leading edge. At least one platform section includes a cutterbar assembly movable in a localized manner in upwards and downwards directions, an endless belt, and a plurality of belt guides positioned partially above the endless belt adjacent the leading edge. The belt guides are movable relative to each other.

An agricultural harvesting machine includes a feeder housing and a cutting platform attached to the feeder housing. The cutting platform includes a frame, an accumulator carried by the frame, a plurality of float arms movably coupled with the frame, and a plurality of float cylinders. Each float cylinder is coupled between the frame and a respective float arm. A shut-off valve is fluidly connected between the accumulator and at least one float cylinder.

A first reel and a second reel are positioned in end-to-end juxtaposed relation to each other above the first platform and the second platform. A reel support arm is positioned between and carries each of the first reel and the second reel. The reel support arm is movable toward and away from the first platform section and the second platform section.

A dual-circuit cooling system for a vehicle is disclosed. One of the circuits may be used to manage the temperature of the engine while the other circuit may be used to manage the temperature of a component other than the engine. An associated method is disclosed.

An exhaust gas recirculation system for an internal combustion engine includes an intake manifold, an exhaust manifold, and a turbocharger compressor coupled with the intake manifold. The exhaust gas recirculation system includes an EGR valve fluidly coupled between the exhaust manifold and the intake manifold. The EGR valve includes a valve stem and a purge air inlet associated with the valve stem. The purge air inlet is in fluid communication with the compressor.

A first exhaust manifold is associated with the first set of combustion cylinders, and a second exhaust manifold is associated with the second set of combustion cylinders. A turbocharger includes a turbine which is fluidly coupled exclusively with the first exhaust manifold. An EGR system fluidly interconnects the second exhaust manifold and an intake manifold.
